Priestley
Broadway came into the game with good spirits after a hard fought win the week earlier-yet again forced into changes after Costa broke his wrist masturbating about his goal the week before -so in came Wade directly off the plane still with vest marks on his leatherlike body!! Broadway started well enough and a searching pass from Marshall to Priestley who cut inside his marker and fired in the opening goal only for the referee to adjudge a foul was committed which only he saw. However within 10 minutes of this off Broadway pressed the self destruct button for the umpteenth this season, sykes with time was quickly closed down and passed a wayward pass behind Jody, not to be surpassed Jody played the ball to their centre forward who rounded an exposed woody to open the scoring. Minutes later a long punt upfield going nowhere lead to confusion with wade and woody the ball landing at the feet of the centre forward who duly tapped into a empty net . Broadway again were still in the game but yet again plotted their own downfall,a break from midfield and the player got off a weak shot with the ball rolling towards the goal but despite time to clear safely panic reigned and the ball was passed again the centre forward who blasted in from 10 yards. Second half started brightly with Broadway breaking into the box via marshall, nunns, dyson and Priestley fired in to make it 3-1. However it was shortly lived straight from the kick off rovers swarmed down field and restored their scoreline, worst was to follow Broadway visibly tiring were again punished from an attacking corner in Rovers penalty ,they cleared and scored again with 3 players marking the forward and 2 players were left to score. Another 2 goals followed to complete the rout. Although it has to be said Rovers deserved the win ,Broadway cannot afford to give 4 goals away to table topping teams and expect to stay in this division . Hard work and commitment will !!
