Various forms of meditation have been practiced around the world for millennia, and there are many reasons why people practice yet today. Some find that meditation helps quiet restless thoughts and reduce anxiety. Some wish to explore their spiritual nature. And others hope to develop clear-sightedness and peace of mind.
At the Joy of Yoga Studio we practice a form of meditation inspired by Tibetan Buddhism. We create a respectful and safe environment where people from all traditions, backgrounds and beliefs are welcome to begin a journey into self-realization. We will guide you through a friendly, gentle and unbiased search for your true self. We will coach you in techniques that will help you observe your responses to daily life. We will encourage you along the path of transformation. Join us at the Joy of Yoga Studio where each of us can explore the humanness of our ever-changing lives.
Meditation techniques you can expect to explore are:
Shamatha, “peaceful abiding”
Loving Kindness
Compassion
Walking Meditation

Please note that open meditation has no fixed price. However, to help us bring these wonderful new programs to you, we will be accepting donations. The suggested donation is $10.00. How ever large or small your contribution is, it's huge to us.
