Well, we both felt pretty rough - I owned up to mine being self inflicted
, but as I felt worse and worse through the week, I think I may actually have been genuinely unwell
Anyway, Laser pairs and for once it wasn't Teal and I that messed up
Wiz has clearly never been taught to weave, and therefore it was unrealistic of Becca to ask her to do so
. Ahem. Moving on, Wiz knocked a pole in C6/7 jumping, Becca ran both her and Teal in this, but felt really bad and didn't work either of them as well as she wanted to, Teal came 7th but never really got going. I ran them both in the C6/7 Agility, Wiz got 5 on her dog walk - I thought she was stopped on it, but it appears she stopped 'over' it - it happens, she is a big girl
so we trained the rest and super she was too, good girl Bear
Then I ran Teal and was totally rubbish
, I gave the wrong commands a couple of times, was in the wrong place a couple of times, and generally completely mucked it up
Poor dog, she didn't seem to mind at all though, she still thought she was the best (and we still think she is too
)
Wren had two G3 classes, and ran ok, not as good as at Letchworth, but not too badly
She had a nice run and came 4th in the Agility, and missed the weave entry in the jumping, so was E'd, but a good run apart from that
. Her weave entry is pretty good, but this was a bit tricky and I never really expected her to get it - she has a big long jump and she landed past the first pole, she did her best and that's all anyone can ask
Hopefully we will work on how long she jumps over the winter - it's great for big open helter skelters and the like, but not for twisty fiddly bits
Back up to Stoneleigh to take part in this final today
In the singles 'warm up' jumping class, both girls knocked a pole, but their times were very good and so we hoped we could do ok......
Becca's main worry was that Wiz would be uncontrollable! She can get a 'bit' over excited <ahem> , but all I could think of was that Teal & I have a 100% result of E's in Finals! Yep - every single final we have been in together, we have been E'd in
. So................
Becca and Wiz had a super clear, Teal and I got E'd
Teal, for whatever reason, went in the 2nd pole of the weaves (straight - easy entry
) and so we got E'd as we carried on. Although she then just belted off to kiss Wiz and tell her how well she was doing, before jumping the last on her way back to me to carry on being so 'special'
I do have to smile at her, she is decidedly an odddog
Becca, thankfully, kept a sense of humour too, and the girls thought they were just fab
To ease our sorrow, it was won by some good friends, and well deserved it was too ![]()
All in all, another good afternoon spent around agility - gosh, it that 3 days in a row for me?
I will need two weeks off to recover
.
We took Wiz, Teal and Wren today, with 3 classes each
Wiz in G7 Jumping, was going great guns, but a jump was away on her left (her blind side), we knew she would struggle to pick it up and she did, but the rest was nice - just one of those things
Her G7 Agility was nice, it was an 'interesting' course (lol) and she and Becca did well to finish 2nd
, her head was all over the place
Then Mini/Mixi pairs (why we entered this show really) - and she took an unplanned detour around the 'mini' side of the course on her way round
Teal was a good girl in G7 Jumping, a couple of wide (for Teal!) turns but a very nice run and she finished in 2nd place
In G7 agility she turned the wrong way a few times, and didn't want to do a few of the (large amount of!!) pull throughs
, and so was clear but very scrappy
C6/7 Agility, and she wasn't going to do any more pull throughs today, thank you very much
and so got a big fat E in that
.
Wren was fab
, she had 3 x E's, but wow did that little dog run
She just slipped one weave pole in G3 agility, carried on so an E - but it was won in 30 plus seconds and she did it in 28
Then C3-5 Agility, a simple mistake of mine and a late call, another E (but did all 12 weaves this time lol), and then G3 Jumping...........This course had me really thinking. It was harder than the G7! Anyway, despite being designed for a very tight/steady dog, I decided to give it a go, and just keep her happy around it, and do whatever took our fancy
She was super, she ran really well and worked really hard - and this was hard for a long jumping/baby dog who has been taught to work forward - she was clear until right at the end when she again slipped the last weave
so another E (I don't see the point in correction, and never do it, a missed weave/contact is my fault and needs more training at home I feel
) But... I was really very pleased with all of her runs today, she flew round and I am thrilled with her
All in all a good day, all dogs were working well and we enjoyed good company too
Becca and Teal qualified for this Semi-Final at Stoneleigh, this is the 3rd time Teal has been to this venue for an Olympia Semi - not bad for a 3year old! The first year she was in the 'Novice' semi, last year was the 'Senior', and so we had fingers crossed for third time lucky
She hasn't been quite on form lately, so we didn't really know how she would work, but needn't have worried - she was her usual cool self, and went round so smooth
, they had a running order of 6th/20, Becca kept her nerve and they went into 2nd place
Now it was a waiting game, but while we sat and watched, Becca went off to find food (typical behaviour for Becca!)
I actually had to phone her to get her back for the presentation
while running to get Teal from the car for the photos myself
They stayed in 2nd place (the top 5 go through), and so we came home very pleased with young Doodle (and young Becca!)
We had actually entered Friday too, but neither of us was feeling well, so we stayed at home instead
However, we were there Saturday and Sunday, Becca feeling better than I, so she mostly ran Teal too. Not a very successful weekend it has to be said, Wiz wasn't running well at all on Saturday, and so Becca only did one class with her, and Teal had just the one clear (despite her best efforts to get E'd in that class too
, you can see her run on our video page), which resulted in 7th in G7 Jumping. Sunday, and Wiz was back to normal, just having a pole in each round, her G7 Agility was really super but she knocked the first pole
Teal missed the weave in this class (not her strong point), and had E's in her other classes, it was her turn to not work very well today - maybe it's 'puppy fever', as Chewy came with us and thoroughly enjoyed her two days out, she is so brave and bold
, and pretty enough that everyone stops and speaks to her
We met up with Karen and Charlotte with Pink, also Pete and Jennie with Cola, the pups seemed very pleased to see each other and would have played all day
Saturday was Champ day - we had both Teal and Wiz entered, both got E'd in the jumping round, Becca right at the end which was a great shame, Teal and I rather earlier as I was sure she would bomb off for a tunnel, so I kept her by my side - and she managed to back jump the wall instead
Poor Teal, I forgot how tightly she works and should have pushed her out a little. We both fared much better in the Agility round, Becca and Wiz flew round and came 3rd
, Teal and I chased them as hard as we could, but came home 1/2 second behind them, and finished 10th
. Team - hmm, I didn't think and tried to run Teal first dog, with Becca and Wiz 2nd. Teal is awful if she can hear Wiz 'cheering' - she keeps trying to race back to her, and sure enough she jumped back towards her instead of running past, and we got E'd
Totally my fault as I should have thought of that. In the Crufts agility Wiz did some brilliant stuff, but knocked the long jump and a pole, Teal was clear but I sent her miles out wide, then gave up as I thought I had lost too much time, and so trained the contacts instead! Last run of the day was our pairs run, we hadn't walked the course so we watched a few pairs run it before we went in - luckily it was a straightforward course and easy to remember! Both girls ran really well, and we were very pleased to win it, and so qualify for the final at Stoneleigh
Funnily enough, Becca won this same class last year with Tan and her partner
. Chewy came with us for a day out, she thoroughly enjoyed herself, especially meeting her gorgeous brother Phoenix again (and he really is stunning
), and she screamed support for Wizzy when she was watching her work too
- I had to pick her up as she was all for joining in and helping - didn't think Becca would appreciate that
.
Sunday was a less hectic day, KC Olympia - Becca ran Wiz first, and as there were no clears so far, she decided not to push, but to get good solid contacts, keep poles up and hope for a clear! She got a nice clear, so now it was wait and see
When it was time to run Teal, Becca was in 4th place but 2 seconds of the winning time, so she decided to push round a bit more, Teal really responded and was flying - but just nipped back in the pipe tunnel instead of past it, so an E
. Wiz finished out of the top ten, so we will have to wait and see! Team - Wiz ran first and was clear, then Teal (learnt from yesterday lol) and she just clipped a pole - but a better result although one of our team mates did get an E - not me this time
. G7 agility - Teal did the oddest thing, although I watched it I have no idea why! Becca sent her to a pipe tunnel, she was running full pelt at it - and right at the entrance suddenly just slammed to a halt, her head came up, and she looked totally spooked
Have no idea why, but she wasn't happy until she was back in the car
. Poor Tealy, something obviously scared her, although what is anyones guess! Wiz did something wrong in the weaves, so nothing in that class either!
I also had Wren, and was really pleased with how she ran
. G3 agility had a wall after the dog walk - she nipped round the side of that and so we were E'd as I just carried on, she then flew the see-saw, which is most unlike her! Think it gave her a bit of a shock as she was most careful when I popped her back over - thank you judge
for letting me carry on too - as she did a brilliant weave entry by herself, all 12 weaves and nice and quickly too. All in all, I was pleased with the way she went round - a little wild but she enjoyed herself
Her team run couldn't have been different - she was clear, and sweet, but a little bit 'airyfairy' again
although her team mates all thought she looked nice so it wasn't that bad obviously! Then she had C3-5 Jumping, where you had to put them in the 'wrong end' of the tunnel - I decided I liked the course apart from that bit, so I just put her in the obvious end, hence another E, but she ran quite nicely in this too
She is coming, slowly but surely, and the day she runs like she does at home is getting closer!
Just went up on the saturday with Teal,Wiz and Littlewren! All Wrens' classes were on quite early, she had 3 classes, all were really nice courses
She had 3 x clears although was rather airy-fairy
Far too much going on to be able to concentrate, but as she is working very very well here now, hopefully she will soon be running well at shows too
Teal and Wiz had an Olympia qualifier - a lovely course that almost made me wish I was running in it
Becca ran Teal first, and was flying round, unfortunately Becca forgot where she was going
. They were clear but wasted so much time it was irrelevant really
Wiz did all the bits we thought she couldn't - flat out and looking great, but then took a brick out of the wall on the home run
. Ah well!
Becca took Teal and Wiz as I had to work
, she had a really good day, winning the (formally Eukanuba!) Mini/Mixi pairs with her partner Cheryl and little poodley 'Misiu'
, and then went on to also win the G7 Jumping with Teal too
. Teal back jumped on a pull-thru in the Agility - 'pull throughs' are something she finds very difficult to understand
, she is not naughty or headstrong so I know she just doesn't quite understand what we are asking, but am not sure why as she is pretty good with them at home! Maybe it just needs more training as it's obviously just more exciting at shows than in training
and she is getting a little carried away
Obviously Becca worked hard and Wren duly obliged with 2 'nearly' runs (and one disaster!). Well, it was worth a try, but I think she will have to wait until I can get to a show again, not that we are in a rush, she has lost a bit of confidence after 6 months off so we are happy to take our time with her
.Teal and Wiz worked well, Wiz is a bit unruly at the moment
, she will come right - it's the 'Wizzy cycle'! Brilliant - awful - v good - awful - v good - awful - brilliant
. Teal had a 4th in (I think!) G7 Agility and that was it for clears today.
The highest point was a 10th place with Teal in the (huge!) Crufts class, that's one whole point towards crufts singles next year lol. 4 x E's in the Champ classes just about summed up our day
. Nothing to do with the dogs really, we just weren't quite 'with' them I think
Best bits were meeting up with Pink puppy and Gem puppy for cuddles, first time we have seen Pink since she left and she looked so settled and happy - and adorable of course
. Gem is just the prettiest little soul, so confident and happy.....how lovely for us to see them both so well, thanks to Deana and to Karen for giving them such fantastic homes
. Oh the rain
Becca took one look at the forecast (heavy rain all day), handed me her running orders
, and stayed home to do college work!
Wren was entered here today, and I was looking forward to running her, but decided not to take her in these conditions, typically the two courses I walked that she would have been in - were both really nice for her and would have suited her down to the ground
. One was flowing and not too difficult - she would have enjoyed that, the other was handling all the way round - which would also suit her as there was no chance to bomb off and ignore me
Ah well, it really was too slippy to run her so I made the right decision.
So, just Teal and Wiz then. G4-7 Jumping, quite a fast open course, so I had rather more hope for Wiz than for Teal, but I'd forgotten that Wiz is a total loon
, and although we went clear, we really didn't do very well together
, late commands from me meant wide turns and extra shouting from Wiz, who is noisy enough anyway! She also doesn't always listen quite as well as she perhaps could (ahem), so between us we made a right 'pigs ear' of the whole thing
.
Teal and I did a great deal better (she hates the rain - and would much rather have stayed in the dry!), I couldn't have asked for more, but I thought it too fast a course for us - so I was very pleased to find she had finished 3rd
.
She flew round the G4-7 Agility too, and we were so nearly home, when she spied a jump that I hadn't
, and so that was that
.
I was very pleased with her though, she always does her best for us, and considering she does have two handlers who run her very differently, I think she does extremely well - gold star for Tealy!
That was all the agility I did, as by now we were thoroughly soaked through and I wasn't happy with trying to run Wiz over the wet ground, just not sure I could keep her safe
.
Have been a bit lax lately, with reports, but we haven't been to many shows at all while the puppies were growing up!
I was judging G6/7 Jumping, and G1/2 Jumping (all heights) at PADS yesterday, while Becca scribed for me - and ran Wiz and Teal too
Quite a good day for Becca, Teal did a super round in Roger Browns G6/7 agility to win by a good margin - I managed to see the run too
then she did another fab run in C6/7, just slipping a weave, but as we don't stop and correct, this meant she was E'd - but the rest was lovely so I'm told
Wiz ran really well in the G6/7 agility too - she just slipped round the back of a jump so was E'd - but the rest was super, and she headed off at full pelt for a dog walk in the C6/7 agility - but called off it really well and came 3rd in that class
.
Both got E'd in the G6/7 Jumping (lol), and Becca got lost in the C6/7 Jumping
Lovely day, beautiful weather, good humour and really nice to see friends again
First outdoor show, and a lovely day for it too! Becca took Wiz and Teal, they each had 3 runs, a Graded 6/7 Agility and Jumping, and an NBC Jumping.
Wiz had a clear in G7 Jumping, a pole down in the NBC and Becca chose to 'E' her in the Agility, to correct a wrong turn
. Teal had 3 clears, her best result was winning the G7 Agility, a tricky course that Becca really loved when she walked it - it's always extra nice to win those ones
. Many thanks to Heather for the video of this run (on our video page).
So not a bad start, lots of work to do with them both on one thing or another, but this year we have promised ourselves we will do a bit more training with our own dogs
, so they can hopefully improve!
With Becca judging, I was scriming for her, plus general ring partying, and also had Wiz and Teal to run
.
There were 4 classes, C4-7 Agility and Jumping, and Graded 4-7 Agility and Jumping. The girls were fantastic, bless them, out of 8 runs we had 7 clears and 1 E! (3 from home in a jumping class, Wiz jumped one jump - heading straight for the next one right in front of her - but instead of doing that she turned a sharp left circle round its far wing and back jumped it again
. Another unexplainable Wiz-ism, we get them sometimes
).
Anyway, as I was rushing about I didn't check any of my times or placings, I did hear my name a few times while I was scriming, but too late to know what for, (and nothing I could do about it anyway
), so thanks to everyone who collected rosettes for me
. I was delighted to come home with 4x1sts, a 2nd and 2x3rds! Teal had 3 wins and a 3rd (again - same as last month!), Wiz had the rest - and considering she was running with me that was really good, we are getting better
.
All in all, another very enjoyable day, thanks again to Nicki, Den and their team for a great show.
Hmm, we were both competing on the Thursday, myself with Teal in the Eukenuba Mini/Mixi Final (along with partners Carla and Gucci), and Becca had qualified both Teal and Wiz for the YKC semi, but is only allowed to take one dog, so entered Wiz. Just as well as it turned out, as we were both running at exactly the same time, at opposite ends of the NEC
Wiz was in Hall 3, Teal in the main ring
. Wiz had a lovely run, but just knocking a pole, and Teal took a fancy to the wrong end of a pipe tunnel in our class, and we got the big E
(sorry Carla
). However, watching the videos, both girls worked really well and thoroughly enjoyed themselves, they got loads of fuss from total strangers all day long, and were as good as gold with it all
(what is it with Crufts visitors? It's like they've never seen a dog before! Lol, they scream and run up saying ''oh I love this one can I buy it''?
. Poor Tealy, she is far too sensible for such silliness, Wizzy, of course, lapped it all up
) Anyway, back to the drawing board and trying to qualify for next year now
.
I was doing half day judging, Power and Speed C1-7 NBC, ABC, Small and Medium, and then Anysize Jumping - the courses ran really well, not what I had planned on paper due to the ring being rather long and narrow rather than square, but a great new venue and it was a lovely day, everyone happy and cheerful and I really enjoyed it - thanks to Nicki, Den and team
. Looking forward to next months show very much
I ran Teal in the morning (Becca ran her in the afternoon while I was judging) - she had 4 classes, and won 3 of them! She also came 3rd in the other, behind Wiz (in 2nd place), and an amazing G7 dog who won it - she is such a good girl, bless her
Wiz had the 2nd place, was really good with one error in G4-7 Jumping, and we shall quietly forget about the other two
Suffice to say, a little training could be in order
All in all, a really enjoyable day spent with friends and having fun
Just myself and Wiz today with Teal and Wren both in season, and Becca 'up to her eyes' in college work
Just went for the day out really, Wiz and I very rarely do agility together, but I wanted to watch and help with a few dogs from club too, so off we went!
C6/7 jumping was a rather testing course
, and to add to that everything was all a bit close together for Wiz and I to negotiate
(that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it
)
C5-7 agility was a lovely fast course, with some handling and control still needed - just the sort of course I love as our dogs can really push on, and if we are right then they all turn pretty neatly too, Wiz was lovely and even with me handling her she won it
C6/7 agility again a really fast course, Wiz was good and we were clear, but I forgot that when I am on her left, she needs verbal commands as she can't see what I'm doing
, and a couple of late calls from me meant we lost a little time
. She was super though, really working well and although she screams her head off all the way round, somehow she still manages to listen too
.
Brrr! Nice sunny day and with a good hard frost, we kept the dogs nice and clean ('til lunchtime anyway!)
Becca stayed at home to plough on through lots of college work, so I had Teal, Wren and Wiz to run
.
I did wonder about leaving Wiz as she doesn't really run well for anyone but Becca, but luckily for me I did take her, she managed the only clear of the day
, albeit a bit 'wobbly', as I muffed commands (Becca says 'through' for a tunnel, 'in' for a pull through - I'm the other way round
) and had to think hard about putting front turns in all over the place
. So lots of fun, and nice to get a clear with her for all that work, she finished 6th in C6/7 Agility. Tried to run Teal the same way
and completely messed up a pull through - poor Doodle
.
In the C6/7 Jumping Teal and I weren't quite 'with it', my timing was out and she loses confidence very quickly bless her, she was fantastic in the G6/7 Agility - but I managed to kick a jump over
Wiz in C6/7 Jumping was typical 'first run of the day Wiz', although she had a perfect start line so was pleased with that, her G6/7 Agility was odd, I actually (openly) handled her on the Dog Walk but was marked clear
.
Wren was a total loon! Just running round flat out, having the time of her life
, not sure she noticed me in the ring at all for her first two runs. One new game is to walk forward behind me instead of waiting on the start line, and walk under the first jump - she did that in both her first two classes
. However, she waited perfectly in the third and final run, in fact was a star all the way round, good weave entry and fast weaves and contacts were fab
. She just ran past the last jump
It was a shame, she flew round and did her very best. What a different dog to two weeks ago, she was really showing a lot of drive and speed, we just need a little work on direction now
A very long day but good to be back at a show and see everyone again
Three classes each for each of the girls, also Teals' first Grade 7 classes, and first show ever for Wren, who has never even trained indoors
Grade 7 agility saw Wiz drop a pole and then it all went wrong
, Teal was on another planet and bombed off doing whatever she saw
so unsuprisingly both got E'd
G7 jumping - Wiz waz going great guns, but Becca put her over the wrong jump right at the end, and I nearly did the same with Teal, a panicky command saved us, so we were clear, but just out of the places
- mistakes cost at this level!
The second G7 agility class saw Wiz break her wait and actually came past the first jump
, Becca put her back but was obviously running the course then with a 5R to start with, and Teal knocked a pole which is very rare
.
So.....just Littlewren left, G3 jumping was pretty straightforward, the run began a little hesitant and unsure- (me not Wren
) - but when I relaxed she really opened up and went around very sweetly
to finish in 8th place
.Then she had two G3 agility classes, the first of which she wasn't happy with a tunnel in the corner, so I gave her a fuss and a play (E'd!!) before carrying on, the next one was a tricky course and she wasn't very sure of herself, but she was clear and came 10th - so not bad for her first time out
. When I run her properly she will be fine, I was really quite worried about what she would do - of course she was fine and knew her stuff
. Good girl Pickle
.
Left at 5am and nearly 10pm when we got home
September - and an outbreak of kennel cough has put paid to any shows for a while!
Now looking forward to Newton Heath in November, when hopefully Wren will make her debut

Becca and Tan went off to Stoneleigh for the pedigree pairs final (they came 6th so well done Tantan and Tizer
), whilst Joy took Wiz and Teal to Trent Park (in the rain
).
After almost not running as it was so wet and miserable
, in the combined G6/7 Agility Wiz had a cracking round but got docked for her 'on' contact on the dogwalk
, Teal however went round beautifully
, she won the class and so into Grade 7
.
Combined G 6/7 Jumping was a real speedy course, I was really pleased that Teal came 3rd
, Wiz was a bit of a handful and got E'd
, she is slightly barmy!
Have to say, I have never run Wiz before so she did really well today as we had a good time in the Agility - never having run enormous 'Big Bertha' before, I was unaware of such bother as an 'on' contact and couldn't think what we had done wrong
! Bless her, she was great and a credit to Becca for training her so well
. Becca was right about her start-line waits though - they ARE awful
. Some work needed there
.
Wow, an 9 hour drive up on Friday made us feel slightly mad to be honest! Especially as we were 'greeted' at the gate of the caravan site by a miserable old so and so who wouldn't even let us on site
so we ended up having to wait till 6am Saturday to get on and set up
. However, the weekend was very enjoyable actually
, and we came home pleased that we made the effort
.
Teal had an 'if only' day
, but we are just so pleased with the way she is working just now
.
We got E'd at number 18 in the agility and she was going great guns over a really good, testing course
. As if that wasn't enough, we did it again in the jumping too
. E'd at number 18, but running as well as she ever has
. I really enjoyed running her in these two classes
.
Becca fared slightly better with her, winning the YKC Agility, and qualifiying her for Crufts next year
(although she has already qualified Wiz so Teal probably won't go!), but they also got E'd at number 18
in the C6/7 jumping
.
Wiz didn't work quite so well this weekend, she did however manage a 3rd and a 5th in her first Grade 7 Jumping classes, the 3rd place was a cracking run, the 5th was not quite so smooth
.
(Not Agility I know
, but Wren behaved beautifully in the breed ring on Sunday
and didn't put a foot wrong in either of her classes. She came home with a 3rd and a VHC (5th!) She is SO cute
)
Back up for another day
but without Tan who stayed behind to 'help' here
.
Teal started the day well, an early running order with me in a very big G5-7 Jumping class in the pouring rain, I was really pleased with this run as although she was slipping it didn't put her off and she kept going really well, super stuff
. She finished in 2nd place, clever girl
She back jumped number 19 (one from the end!) on the C6/7 Agility, she thought she was turning one way and Becca thought she was turning the other....
For only the second time that I can remember, she got the devil in her in G6 Jumping and soared past me with great glee
, despite me asking her to do something totally different - what a change in her attitude from a few weeks ago, she is working the best she ever has right now I think
.
Wiz ran after lunch when the ground had dried out, she had a bit of a dodgy run in C6/7 Agility, one 'dog error' moment, one 'handler error' moment and a very near collision with the judge half way round
. However, such is Wiz right now that she still came 3rd
.
Started the C5-7 Jumping well, but got E'd on the way round, and refused a tunnel in the G6 Jumping. However, she did three sets of 6 weaves today
, slipping poles when there is only 6 weaves was getting to be a habit so it's nice to see that she managed them all today
.
Tan had a good day
, two clears out of 3 runs
, still holding contacts so not placed in Graded 5-7 agility, but she managed a win with held contacts with Becca in Junior O's agility
. She actually wasn't bad in the G7 agility either, a giddy moment by the weaves but the rest was super, so maybe we are seeing an improvement - which would be nice
.
Wiz was just noisy I think! A pole down and missed weaves put paid to any places today
Teal was sweet, pilot error in Graded 5-7 agility meant she was left to read the numbers
, however, she did it somehow
and despite this and running back up the course to Becca one from the last - she still managed a 7th place
. Apart from that, 2 E's and an 8th place with a pole down and a held dog-walk contact was Teal's day today
.
Wow! A HUGE show, all 18 rings of it
.
Friday - Wiz thoroughly enjoyed her classes today, working really well again
, as was Becca
. Just not entirely sure that Wiz even noticed Becca had gone in with her though
.
So, hopefully Teal would be a good girl
, and she was fantastic
, a super run in a very big G6 class, and she gets another jumping win
.
Saturday - little mistakes for Becca with Teal today
, such is Agility
. Wiz had a better day, coming 3rd in the International Young Handler Agility round
, but with a pole down in the Jumping round, not sure if it will be enough to get her in the final tomorrow
. She also came 5th in C6/7 Jumping
.
Sunday - Becca and Wiz did qualify for the International Young Handler Final with Wiz
, but got 5 faults
, never mind
, at least they made the final again
.
Teal had a nice clear to get 4th in C6/7 Agility
.
Saturday, Becca went along with just Teal and Wiz, the weather forecast wasn't great, but she is keener than I am
.
However, it was worth them going, as after they both had faults in the G6 Agility
, they both had lovely runs in the C6/7 Jumping, and Becca came home with 1st
AND 2nd
- again
. Wiz just pipped Teal, but we are just so pleased to have Teal running well again
. Fingers crossed she is over her little 'blip' and back to normal now - we shall see
.
Sunday, a nice run with Teal gave her 2nd in G6 Jumping
. Unfortunately she cut a pad and so didn't run C6/7 Agility
.
Wiz had a lovely early run in C6/7 Agility - the first clear round in the class again, and stayed there all the way through for yet another win
, she has wings on her feet right now
. Think she is DEFINITELY G7 now Becca
.
Tan had one pole in each class today, but superb contacts and listening really well - so an improvement on late
.
Phew - hot hot hot
Saturday Becca was busy running all the dogs in everything - Tan was her usual insane self
, clear in the Champ Jumping (but all over the place)
, and an E in the Agility
. Didn't run her in the Crufts, we haven't done any Crufts classes this year
, and due to the heat and the fact Becca had so many runs she decided to leave that one. She did, however, run her in the pairs with partner Carla and Tizer - and they won
.
Wiz and Teal had 'if only' days, including a 20th place together in the pairs - with 15 faults between them
.
Teal did a very nice clear in the team class too
.
Sunday not much on, 2 runs each, all 3 in the KC Olympia class......hmm, Tan stopped on her contacts although Becca didn't ask her to, which is good I know, but not helpful when you are trying to go as fast as possible
. She also turned the wrong way once or twice, little things but they cost her dear today, and she was way off the time
.
Teal did the best she could, the heat doesn't agree with her at all (all that lovely coat!) but again wasn't quick enough today, and Wiz was SO unlucky, 5 on the dogwalk with a cracking time that would have put her 3rd (I was scribe so that's how I know
).
G6 Agility, Becca couldn't quite get either Wiz or Teal round clear today, ah well - there's always another day
Decided that it wasn't worth running Tan in the G7 Agility - it really was very very hot
.
Our own club show, so quite a busy day! Ring Managing in the morning, judging in the afternoon for me.
Teal was running a bit better, but she is still very hesitant, I watched her running in 'C1-7 Jump and Go' which I judged, and I think she has just lost some confidence, probably from her tumble at Watford some weeks ago
. Such is Teal
. Hopefully she will regain it with time, there doesn't appear to be anything physically wrong so we will see how she goes over the next few weeks.
She did a nice enough round to come 3rd in C6/7 Agility though
.
Wiz ran well, odd little things today, she came 6th in my class, it couldn't have helped that she kept smiling at me as she went past
. Dappy dog
.
A good weekend
Wiz was fantastic, the only mistake she made all weekend was to miss an 'on' contact of the dogwalk
. Unfortunately, she did it in the KC Olympia class
. Apart from that, she qualified for Crufts next year, by winning the YKC Agility on Saturday
, and on Sunday, she won Junior O's Agility
and Junior O's Jumping
, then came 2nd in G6 Jumping too
.
Tan enjoyed her weekend, two poles down in a blast of a G1-7, an E in the KC Olympia, but she was working much better than she has been
. Until our 6/7 Jumping anyway, where we had a bit of a giddy time - my timing was still on 'naughty Tan', and hers was 'back to normal'
.
Sunday was Champ day, both of us very rusty. In the Jumping round, apart from a few rather hairy moments getting her from one weave entry to the other
, she worked really really well, and I was very pleased with a clear round
. The Agility was more straightforward, again she worked well, but missed her A frame contact
- I can't remember her ever missing a contact before - my fault as I just assumed she would run down to the bottom while I took off sideways. I think she got a little excited
. A good run in the G7 jumping gave her 3rd place
.
Teal had a brilliant Saturday
. She qualified for a semi day by coming 9th in the KC Olympia
, then came 3rd in the YKC Agility
, and ran clear in her team. Sunday she wasn't quite right at all, 10 faults in her team run
, and she clearly wasn't happy in her G6 Jumping class, so we decided not to even run her Agility, it's most unlike Teal to be so flat
. Hopefully it was just a passing thing and all will be back to normal this coming weekend
. Poor Doodle!
What can I say??
Teal and partner Gucci ran another double clear in the Euk pairs - we finished 2nd and very pleased with that
C5-7 Agility - Becca and Wiz ran right at the start, and Wiz simply flew round
. Tan was clear but I really held her contacts - we need to go right back to basics I think
. Teal ran at the end of the class and took a pole
. However, nothing could beat Wiz's time, and she came home a Grade 7 dog! The first one-eyed one?
Jumping C5-7, all went pear shaped, I think we were still on cloud 9 over Wiz's success
, Wiz slipped a weave
, Teal missed the weave entry
and Tan shot into a tunnel
A pretty good day
G6/7 Agility - wet and very slippery first thing. Two early running orders so I passed Tealy over to Becca and ran Naughtyface Tantan myself, however she landed on her nose, and skidded under a jump so I decided not to risk her further in these conditions, Teal had one little slip early on but was then as careful as anything going round - lovely clear and into the lead, but could she stay there if the ground dried out......... (This win would make her G7
).
Becca and Wiz had a late R/O.....
They did a storming round, a pleasure to watch, putting Teal into 2nd place and a well deserved win for Wizzybear
. Both Teal and Wiz are now on 3 wins
.
A fantastic achievement, in a class of over 200 dogs, especially as they are very different dogs to handle
Wiz excelled herself by also giving Becca a superb run in the G6/7 Jumping, ending up 3rd
. Teal slipped over after number 2, and decided that she couldn't do agility anymore
, an E for her in this class but at least she carried on going
. Tan was as naughty as can be, she knocked a pole and I was going to bring her out, but she shot behind me and took off through the tunnel, so I decided to try and regain a degree of control
, and we finished the course. Well, sort of
.
Teal and I with partners Gucci and Carla had a double clear in the mini/mixi pairs, we came 8th and pleased with that
.
A nice sunny day for a change! It was fantastic (and a bit scary
) to have Tan back in the ring after so long out with a cruciate ligament injury. Teal was left at home today as she has come into season for the second time - 19 months after her first one!
Tantan was brilliant, she really worked well. The last course she ran was quite tricky, and it showed how rusty we are! For instance - directional commands - I think she turned the wrong way every time
No mistakes in G7 Agility however, she just flew round and won the class
Wiz wasn't quite on form today
A really good run in C6/7 Jumping with a pole down, and some great 'bits' in the other classes, but still a little wild - and where did that high pitched screaming come from?
What a shame
Becca was camping the week with some friends, along with Wiz and Teal. Saturday started off well, Teal having a good run in C6/7 Agility, and finishing in 2nd place
, and then Wiz 1st in Junior O/12 Agility
, so a promising start to the week!
Sunday, and they were all amazing- Teal winning C6/7 Agility
AND G6 Jumping
, and Wiz winning Junior O/12 Jumping
, and coming 5th in the G6 Jumping
Clever girls, what a fantastic weekend
After helping people to get out all day, they finally arrived home about 9.30pm Monday night
Becca took Wiz and Teal, Teal was doing well in the KC qualifier, but Becca forgot what her tunnel command was
, so she pointed at it and said go on, but Teal just ran past it
. She is a funny dog, and even going full pelt she only ever does what she's been told to do
Becca got it all right later on though, and they had a smooth and neat G6 Jumping run, and another win
.
As for Wiz, no clears for her today but she is working well, and she will have her day
.
Had Tan entered, and decided to give her just one jumping run and see how she looks the next day! So, C5-7 Jumping, and she was totally dizzy
, however she was sound afterwards, so hopefully, with a little more work, she will be back competing in a few weeks
Teal was really good, an unusual pole down in C5-7 Jumping, but two really nice clears, G6 Agility with Joy, and G6 Jumping with Becca, she finished 2nd in the agility
and 1st in the jumping
Wiz was working well today, as was Becca, but maybe not working together quite as well as they have
. Two good runs with just one error in each, typical
