THE SQUIRREL GAZETTE

JORGE THE FRIENDLY SQUIRREL

It was only a few weeks ago we met Jorge the Mighty Squirrel at the Common.  After a good game of frisbee, Jorge appeared (of course without a name first) from a tree and came pretty close to us.  Closer than any other squirrel I have encountered, anway.  It was reported that he came so close that a witness, Korry (last name not mentioned) was able to pet him with a stick!  "From the first time we met that friendly little critter, Jorge, we knew he was something special. We threw some pretzels to him and he came right up to us. It was a defining moment in all of our lives," said Tara, another witness at this touching scene.

Jorge comes to frisbees and flip flops, and possibly other brighty colored objects that aren't too small to see when thrown at him.  If a squirrel runs away at these objects being thrown at him, it is not Jorge.  If you spot Jorge, please take pictures and send them to us.  It's greatly appreciated.

THE MIGHTY SQUIRREL SPOTTING

Jorge, the squirrel we mentioned in our last issue has been spotted by a witness whose name shall not be mentioned, as she wishes to be annonymous.  Last week, again at the common, this witness spotted a squirrel oogling at her bright yellow flip flops.  "I simply took one off and threw it at him gently, not so hard as to hit him.  After a few seconds, he went over to it and started clawing at it.  So not to ruin my flip flops, I chased him down.  He even ate the pieces of a chocolate chip muffin I had and tossed to him.  He really is a cute little fellow.  It was unfortunate I didn't have a camera with me."

Since this is the only spotting of this precious and unusual squirrel we have had since our last article, the Gazette has come up with a team of employees to investigate the scene.  Hopefully, some pictures will be taken, but we cannot promise anything.  Check back for more news about Jorge.

MIGHTY SQUIRREL MADNESS!

We are very pleased to tell all you readers and Jorge fans that our Squirrel Gazette team of investigators have spotted Jorge at the Common!  Equipped with brightly-colored flip flops and different kinds of frisbees, the Team headed off to the common with high hopes of seeing Jorge.  Things were going slow until they spotted a squirrel looking at them from the bottom of a tree.  They quickly de-armed their feet and threw flip flops as accurately as they could.  Lucky for them, a lime green one went pretty close to the squirrel, and he went to the flip flop!  They quickly got out their cameras and took as many pictures as they could.  They kept a close watch on Jorge later in the day and got more pictures of him, which have been included in this article.

Jorge prepares for a duel with the lime green flip flop.
