At an early age, Jonathan knew how to get attention from a crowd. A cameraman caught him dancing in the aisles at a Hamilton Tiger Cats Game, as the crowd cheered him on. Then, he was 6 years old. Now, he's turning his ability to entertain into a career in Journalism.
Jonathan Vize is a graduate from the Journalism and Communications Media program at Mohawk College, where he learned how to reach viewers through great storytelling. He has written, produced, reported and anchored Mohawk College Television News. Jonathan has also hosted and reported for the "4-1-1" radio magazine show on C101.5 FM in Hamilton.
Some people need to jump out of an airplane to get a thrill. But not Jonathan Vize. He finds Breaking News a huge adrenaline rush, and learned how to handle it when interned at CTVNewsnet as a newswriter. While there, he was a newswriter for National news anchors such as Kate Wheeler, Ravi Baischwal, and Scott Laurie. He learned how to tell the world about life changing events such as the death of Pope John Paul II, and the case Terri Chiavo.
Jonathan is an NPPA member and is currently working full-time at CityTV Toronto as a News Editor. He's also a part-time teacher at Mohawk College, teaching AVID XpressPro. When he's not at work, Jonathan enjoys golfing, hockey, and playing guitar.
