I bought this one on Ebay, needless to say, it was in very rough condition. I enjoyed working on cleaning it up and making it become a little more than it was.
A lot of clean up and repair was required on this one,
This is how it looked when I bought it on Ebay, the pictures actually make it look better than it was.

DAY ONEHere it is disassembled and sitting next to some inspiration, my cast iron based 25

I am added a wood base to make this one similar to a Jensen 25G, I planed on possibly using a stepper motor for a generator as opposed to the Jensen 15 that comes with a Jensen 25G, I guess I would have renamed it a 25S for Stepper if I decided to go that route. This was the proposed basic layout.
DAY TWOI removed the rust and grime from the firebox and engine base and they both required repainting after that, the rust damage was just too extensive.
here is the repainted Firebox

and the repainted Engine base, note it was originally chrome plated, but was in too bad a cosmetic condition to keep it that way, so I painted it

And here is how it looks while awaiting parts.
ONE WEEK LATERParts came in and work proceeded, I re-gasketed the Boiler and reassembled the Heater and Boiler to the Firebox. I also stained and Lacquered the Base.

Nothing screwed down yet, bit things are starting to look like they will when I am finished. I do believe that I am within 48 hours of a Steam up.
I used rivets to reinstall the Boiler straps, but one hole is too large to retain a rivet, so I had to use a screw and nut at that one place. I also installed a grounding lug to the inside of the firebox and am using a three wire cord.
Here it is, all assembled and after a test run. I have yet to decide how to mount a generator, but that can happen later. For now, it all works.
ONE MONTH LATERUpdate, as of November 2007 I bought a Jensen 75 on Ebay and did some parts swapping, namely the cylinder and Engine base, thus eliminating the painted engine base ( which I do not think looked all that bad, but I was after a like new looking 25G ) and thus making it look a lot newer. I also bought a Jensen 15 Generator. The 15 made the 25 become a 25G and, completed the project. I also got some metal polish and it sure helped.
My Jensen 25G project complete

It has been a bit of work, but well worth it, I learned a lot about Jensen Steam Engines and I ended up with a real nice Jensen 25G to boot!
