Johns Steam Page

Once you have a Steam Engine you want to run something with it, here are the things that I have.

Jensen 15 Generator
This is the Jensen Accessory that is a must have for all Jensen enthusiasts, mine is mounted with my Jensen 25G, the G meaning Generator

Stepper Motor Generators

Stepper motors are often found in CNC machines, Printers and even Disc Drives. One thing about them is that the can be used to generate electricity. There are 6 wires in the ones I have, four hots wire and two commons. The electricity generated from these is AC, but with the use of 4 rectifier diodes, a DC current is generated.
The first is based on a Peter Santa Maria design, he gave me the Teak base and the bent light post, this looks very similar to those that he sells on Ebay under the username of psantama  if you are interested in getting one, please try to get one from him as he does out forth a good product. It is possible to make on of your own, but I am not going to get into that right now.

I also made one from scratch, I bought a Plywood Square and Lid at the Crafts Section of Wal Mart, I also bought some Stepper Motors from an electronics surplus place on the web, along with some diodes and some breadboard. This is the end result, however the PTO Pulley Wheel is now on the other Stepper Motor, so I will have to get another or continue swapping them back and forth.
