Bowman

Bowman M135

I finally own a Bowman!

Bowman Models made the M135 in England from 1925 and 1936
The M signifies a metal base, the holes are spaced for Meccano
Tey also made an E135 which had a Wooden Base.
There were several models other than the 135 of course, and who knows, maybe some day I might be fortunate to have another one.

I proudly also have the Original Wooden Box, a true PreWar classic.

In fact I have received a few requests to show the box a little closer.

I have to agree that approximately 80 years ago the box that an item came in was almost as interesting as the item itself. I am real proud to have this little bit of history to go with the Bowman Model.

Bowman M158

Yet another Bowman! this is my Bowman M158 complete with box, this one is the cardboard variety of box, but the only "damage" to the box is a few oil stains, I really cant complain as the box is over 70 years old.

BOWMAN 234

Bowman 300.
This one is from the mid to late 1920s

Luton Boman PW203

After WWII a company called Piece Parts and Assemblies Ltd at Luton which had been making parts and sub assemblies for Aircraft, looking for a product to manufacture they purchased the Bowman Archer Trademark and the Bowman name from the Jenkins family and produced Bowman Steam Engines. for a short while after the end of WWII
This is my Luton Bowman PW203

I have the original Instruction sheet too, it is quite yellowed and I decided that for this page I would try to color correct the scan to make it a bit more legible, but it still has the yellows and oil stained look to it.
