My model railway of the Liskeard and Liskeard to Coombe Junction and Looe / Moorswater.
A Hornby Class 25 Bo-Bo in blue with a full yellow end, waits to join
the main line from the yard, while a much newer Bachmann Class 25 in
early green livery with a small yellow panel, arrives on a down mixed
freight at Liskeard, crossing Liskeard viaduct. Liskeard station is to
the right on the main line, and the branch to Coombe and Looe goes off
to the left through Liskeard Branch Yard. Things have changed since
this shot... so I'll be adding more recent images as I get the time. I
have out-sourced the viaduct piers to my bro-in-law to machine... and
am waiting for them to return... and its been a while now! Hey ho!
Anyway, as you can see, much work is still to be done! Hope you like
the rest of the shots here, do let me know - and if you want to see at
least one video of this and my Z-guage layout, visit my youtube pages on this site.

A Railfreight Distribution liveried Class 37 brings a train of empty and covered 'clay hood' wagons up from the dries at Moorswater. you can see some of the construction techiques - and temporary wiringin place. I've broken all the rules here - i've got points on gradients, and on a curve as well!! The slope itself seems to work almost prototypically with loads having to be limited as in the real thing! The main line, singled as part of some further West Country cut-backs (and my artistic licence for this stretch of the route! note that this did happen in several other parts of the line through Cornwall).

A general view of the Looe Branch Yard. Liskeard is very unusual in that the branch station is at 90 degrees to the main line. The train of lurid 4-wheelers are to be repainted in GWR chocolate and cream. A B-set of maroon suburban coaches wait in the yard for strengthening the more busy Looe trains. If anyone would like to assist with construction, please email me. I live in Bristol, England, so if you are local, I could really do with a hand!

Looking down the branch and under Liskeard viaduct. getting this slope to fit was the main challenge to model the line in the manner I wished - and I am glad to say it works! Railway Modeler had a Plan of the Month once, and it compromised hugely, but I think I have managed to get the main elements of the route to Coombe and Moorswater at least to work.

This shot is looking towards Moorswater (under the bridge, the line curves to the right, under Moorswater Viaduct (yet to be constructed!) and into Moorswater yard. Coombe Junction (or alternatively simply Coombe) station is on the loop to the right. The factory (I'm slowly adding to) is starting to look like the Duchy Tweed Mill that was there, and the signal box was kindly scratch built by my friend Matt. Ignore the fallen-over hut - these shots were all hurredly snatched one day when the attic wasn't too cold or too hot for comfort - and that's not been often this year! Must move it out to the garage!!! NB the high level line boards can be seen through the trees, and some seriously steep scenic work needs to be done to (hoperfully!) adequately disguise the extremely foreshortened distance from Coombe to Liskeard 'as the crow flies!'
More to follow in the near future....
See my youtube pages for a rough '5 minutes to produce!' video of this in operation... and a humorous video of my Z gauge layout, with our cat as the monster predator!
