Pirates of the Caribbean At World's End has been released, and is a huge success, and production of Sweeney Todd is well underway. Filming began in February of this year and is said to now be complete (since June 12), even with the slight hiccup in the schedule because of the illness of Johnny Depp's daughter. The film is still set to be released by January of next year, and it is currently unknown when filming for The Rum Diary will begin.

As of December 12, 2006, the third installment of the Pirates trilogy has completed shooting. Set to hit theaters on May 25th of this year, it could in fact be the last of the Pirates of the Caribbean series. Jerry Bruckheimer had talked about making more films after AWE, but others say Pirates is done. I suppose only time will tell. Johnny's next project will be to start filming on Sweeny Todd with Mr. Tim Burton in the first week of February. Sweeny Todd is scheduled to be released at the end of this year. 

Pirates 3 is now complete and will be released to theaters on May 25th, 2007. Sweeny Todd, his 6th film with Tim Burton, will begin shooting the first week of February and is scheduled for release at the end of 2007. Shantaram and The Rum Diary should follow shortly after Sweeny Todd is complete. Not much is known about Shantaram and The Rum Diary at the present time, but as soon as I get more info I'll be sure to post it.

After the explosive sucess of Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest, the filming of Pirates of the Caribbean At Worlds End began shooting (though they shot a few scenes during DMC). Johnny is playing Captain Jack Sparrow again (of course) and Keith Richards is said to appear in the third film playing Jack Sparrows father. This is bound to be a huge hit, as were the other two, and you can see it in theaters on May 25th, 2007. In yet another one of Tim Burton's films, Johnny is said to portray Sweeny Todd, a demon barber who cuts the throats of his unsuspecting customers. There is no word yet on when this film is said to be realeased. Johnny has quite a full schedule right now! Set in the underworld of contemporary Bombay, Shantaram is the story of Lindsay (Johnny Depp), an escaped convict with a false passport who flees a maximum security prison in Australia for the teeming streets of a city where he can disappear. Johnny Depp is also listed as the producer of this project. Hunter S. Thompson's The Rum Diary is a tale of jealousy, treachery and lust set in San Juan, Puerto Rico during the late 1950s. Cast includes Johnny Depp, Benicio Del Toro, Josh Hartnett and Nick Nolte. Johnny Depp is also listed as Executive Producer of this film. Information from http://www.deppimpact.com.
