A Little Background

I, your humble webmaster and fellow JDOCD-er, stumbled on to this idea, but have augmented it into it's on entity. So why did I do this? Well, it's for a few reasons. First of all, Johnny Depp is simply an amazing man. Since I can not thank him in person for all the things he's done and said, I figured that this is as good as any way to thank him. He is more than just an amazing actor, he is a devoted father and a very wise man. I'm always amazed by the things he says. My second reason for doing this is that I think he would appreciate this much more than just a simple letter. He must get thousands and thousands of letters, so this just might stand out a little more. My third reason, and best reason, is that giving to a charity is always a wonderful thing, whether in honor of someone or not. I find that giving of one's self is one of the most satisfying things a person can do.

I think this project has been more than a success. It has unified people around the world and benefited a great people. I don't think I could've asked for anything more than this. Thank you all.

An Excerpt from my Biosketch

"Let me introduce myself. I am 18 years old, and I recently graduated from Carlisle High School in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. While in school, I was a member of National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society, both service-based societies. Besides doing charitable work for these two organizations, I also raised $300 in seventh grade for Lutheran World Hunger and, in ninth grade, I spent a week working with poor children in Michigan. While not doing charitable work, I was head manager for the swim team for three years, as well as a member of the Model United Nations group, which travels to an international conference in New York City every year. I used to play softball and I have been involved in National History Day. My essay concerning the ties between car companies and Nazi-era concentration camps last year went all the way to the state competition."
