John Gipson has been fishing bass tournaments since he was 11 years old. On that very first night, he caught the big bass of the evening and has been hooked on tournament fishing ever since. The following year, at only 12, he won his first bass tournament on Barron Lake, catching all three of the fish that were weighed in and fully running the boat. Now, John fishes at least 40 tournaments a year and hopes to one day become a full-time professional fisherman on the Bassmaster or FLW Tour. Last year he was the Four Flags Bassmasters Angler-Of-The-Year and NBAA Cass County One-on-One Points Champion. In 2006 John won the Four Flags Bassmasters Angler-of the-Year title, CATT Division 11 Points Championship, and NBAA Division 8 Points Championship. This spring John will be working many regional and local fishing shows. He was taped for an episode of Backroads with Ron and Raven that will air later in the year. John will be fishing primarily NBAA this season, the Bassmaster Southern Opens, and multiple local and regional tournaments.
