Who Is John Castellain?

John Castellain is an English born Musician/Composer/Producer who has spent a lifetime Composing & Recording Music.

 He was Classically educated on Piano near Oxford England, but later, after hearing and seeing Jimi Hendrix on 'Top Of The Pops' fell in love with the Electric Guitar.

John's family came to Australia in 1972 and in 1973 John had already formed his first band 'Contortion' soon to become 'Taras Bulba'.They played in many venues around Geelong (near Melbourne Australia)and quickly gained a reputation as an extremely 'Loud but Talented Band!'

From then John played in a variety of bands including 'Apparition, Lizard, Jolt, BentJentz, Electric Armchairs,The Scream, Red Light Go, Afrodisa, Cow, and many more.

He has worked  on Internet Collaborations with artists including John Dierckx(Holland,NZ) Daniel Watson(Nigeria,Australia) Jennae(USA) GuppyKillers/Victors Skull(USA), ChillinBuzz(UK)Many of these projects are now available on CD and details will be posted from time to time.

John's Guitar skills have seen him work as a session player with a variety of local and International Artists.

He worked on an Album in David Briggs 'Production Workshop'(Little River Band) and supported David Lee Roth on his 1988 Australian tour with Steve Vai, with African Band Afrodisa.

John gained a BA at Deakin University in 1989. He studied African and Contemporary music.

John Currently lives with his second Wife Tarni (and family) in rural Victoria where much of his time is spent Composing and Collaborating.
