Each professional donates their time and experience to offer their opinion to tough questions and issues in the industry.

Chaney Weiner, BS, CSCS

Chaney holds a CSCS from the National Strength & Conditioning Association and is a graduate of Rutgers University. He is certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and has completed coursework towards a Master's Degree in Strength & Conditioning. Currently, he is a Fitness/Performance Trainer at Rutgers University where he trains faculty, students , and athletes of different sports. Dr. Kwame Brown, CSCS
 
Kwame M. Brown received his Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Georgetown University.  While he specializes in working with children, Kwame has worked with a variety of populations, including spinal cord injured patients, professional athletes, amateur athletes, elderly individuals, post-rehabilitative adults, and others.  In addition to being the Fitness Director for the Oak Marr REC Center (Fairfax County Park Authority, VA) he currently serves on the Affiliate Board of Directors for the International Youth Conditioning Association, and as a consultant on motor development for Cris Carter's FAST Program in Coral Springs, FL. 
 

Roger White, BS, SSC, CSCS

Roger White is Director of Sport X Training in Detroit, MI and is a certified through the National Strength & Conditioning Association as a CSCS, and International Sport Sciences Association (ISSA). Roger specializes in improving speed and agility in youth athletes in all sports, particularly soccer and football. Brian Nolan, CPT

Brian is the owner and president of NRG Fitness and Performance Solutions in San Diego , CA. He has compiled years of experience as a certified personal trainer through NSCA, NASM and NCST. He is best known for his "cut to the chase" advice and offers a renowned professional demeanor for all fitness professionals.

 

Rick Karboviak, CPT, CSCS

Rick is a Sports Performance & Fitness Trainer at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls, MN. He works with athletes through the Frappier Acceleration Sports Training sites and also coaches cross-country for the junor/highschools of Thief River Falls. Rick holds a BS in Exercise Science; a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and certified as a personal trainer by the National Endurance Sports Trainer Association (NESTA). John Izzo, BS, NASM-CPT, PES

John Izzo holds a Bachelor's degree in Public Health Promotion specializing in Community Nutrition. He holds multiple certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), American Council on Exercise (ACE), National Endurance Sports Trainers Association (NESTA), American Fitness Professionals & Associates (AFPA), Schwinn Cycling, and APEX Training Systems. John brings experience in personal training and management from Gold's Gym, World Gym, and Healthtrax, Inc. Since 2002, John has served as CT Area Director for World Instructor Training Schools (WITS)and now serves as the CT Senior Faculty Instructor. Rob Pilger

Rob utilizes the holistic multi-disciplinary C.H.E.K. principles as a CHEK Practioner Level 2 and has studied Charles Poliquin's PICP/Strength Coaching Course. He has attended Mike Boyle's Functional Strength Coach Course and studies Mike's conditioning methodologies, as well as Louie Simmon's Westside Barbell Club methodologies. Rob is also a certified RTS (Resistance Training Specialist) where he uses his knowledge to provide injury prevention training and proper exercise bio-mechanics. To enhance his athlete's speed, he is studying CFTS (Charlie Francis Training Systems).  As a AIFE certified personal trainer,  he continues to intern and learn with the best in the field, and is committed to offering the best service possible to his clients - both athletes and the general population. Rob also trains fighters, and teaches one on one boxing to certain clients. He is a USA Boxing Coach Level 2 and a former 3X Golden Glove Champion.  Steve Payne, CPT, CSCS

 

Steve has been involved in the field for the last 25 years. He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) and a certified personal trainer (CPT). He works predominately with baseball players and athletes of different ages and gender. He is a dedicated professional to the craft and is constantly learning from others.

 

 

 

 Wayne Burwell, BS, NASM-CPT

 

Wayne has trained countless clients ranging from professional and collegeathletes to the general population. He possess endless energy, wisdom, and passion along with a certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and a bachelor's degree from Dartmouth University. He specializes in strength & conditioning, and has volunteered his time at his alamater to train young athletes.

 

 

 

 

Narina Prokosch, RN, CPT

 

Narina is a Registered Nurse with over 10 years experience as an Operating Room Nurse. She is a certified Personal Trainer with the National Academy of Sports Medicine as well as a Certified Trainer with the International Sports Sciences Association. Narina is an avid student constantly seeking out educational opportunities as they pertain to fitness, health and exercise physiology.Narina has united her passion for fitness and her nursing background to provide her clients with the best in personal fitness training.  Vincent Burke, MS, BS, CSCS

 

Vince is the President and Director of Physical Therapy for Infinity Fitness & Sports Institute in New Jersey. Vince's credentials consist of a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with Summa Cum Laude honors. It is also at this university that Vince is presently a candidate for the Doctorate Program in Physical Therapy. His undergraduate degrees were awarded from Farleigh Dickinson University in Madison, New Jersey and Barry University in North Miami, Florida. He is also an active member in both the American Physical Therapy Association and Orthopedic Division, along with the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Anthony Renna, CSCS

 

Anthony is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA), a Sports Performance Coach (USAW) and a Tier 3 trainer with the Equinox Fitness Clubs.

He is founder of: Five Iron Fitness, a golf-specific personal training company; www.GolfFitnessProducts.net, a resource for all things golf fitness from the world’s leading golf fitness experts; and Better Golf with Fitness, a golf fitness blog. Robert Belley, NASM-CPT, IYCA-YCS

 

Belley earned his BS in Physical Education, with a concentration in Exercise Science from Bridgewater State College in 2001. He is certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) as a Certified Personal Trainer and he is also a certified Level 1 Youth Conditioning Specialist by the International Youth Conditioning Association (IYCA), which he was the first in the world to receive such an honor.  Belley also volunteers his time as a basketball coach for the Pembroke, Massachusetts Youth Recreation League, a volunteer instructor at the Pembroke Police Boys Club, and serves as the acting strength and conditioning coach to the Boston Braves baseball team. Belley has been recognized as a professional athlete since sixteen years of age, competing in the International Armwrestling Federation under the United States Armsports organization. He achieved several first place finishes within his weight class and two Overall Finishes, a difficult feat, prior to his early retirement from the sport in 2001. Matt Attanasio BS, CPT, PES

Matt serves at the CEO of Athletic Performance for the Infinity Fitness & Sport Institute in New Jersey.  He received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Exercise Science at Montclair State University and then became involved with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), because of their reputation in the fitness and sports performance industry. He is a Certified Personal Trainer with NASM, as well as a Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES). Along with this advance education, he is  a candidate for their advanced Integrated Flexibility Specialist (IFS) certification. Robert dos Remedios, MS, CSCS

 

Coach Dos is a former Junior College All-American and All-PAC 10 athlete who brings over 18 years of sport-specific conditioning experience to College of the Canyons.  Coach "Dos" holds a Masters degree in Kinesiology and is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) by the National Strength & Conditioning Association. 

Coach Dos is a sought after National level speaker and presenter on topics such as Program Design, Olympic Lifting Implementation, Medicine Ball Training, Plyometrics, and Speed, Agility, and Quickness Training.  Coach Dos also teaches workshop classes to coaches and trainers in the UCLA Extension Fitness Certification Program. Coach Dos also organizes several continuing education events each year for personal trainers, strength coaches, physical therapists and athletic trainers, bringing in some of the biggest names in strength and conditioning today! Coach Dos was a finalist for the prestigious NSCA Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Professional of the Year award in 2003, 2004, and 2005 before finally winning this prestigious award this year. He is the first Community College coach to ever win this award.

 Julie Keen, PT, NSCA-CPT

A graduate of the University of Connecticut (’90, ’95), Julie is a physical therapist and personal trainer who specializes in rehabilitative exercise and weight management programs for people of all ages and fitness levels.  A mother of two small children, she also has a special interest in programs to address the unique problems that pregnant and post-partum women experience.

She has worked for over 12 years in orthopedic, rehab and homecare settings helping people regain function and quality of life.  Currently she owns her own personal training business providing in-home exercise instruction.

Julie is available for individual and small group in-home instruction and program design.  She is also available for articles, seminars and small group presentations.
