JO FOOKS

JAZZ SAXOPHONIST

ALBUM'S

I'm currently having a few problems up loading the front cover of my new cd "PLAYIN", which I hope to sort out soon.  This will be ready for sales at www.jazzcds.co.uk very shortly.  PLAYIN consists of 11 orginal compositions, with (I hope) an up beat and bluesy flavour. I wanted to make a cheery cd that would make people smile, so please buy a copy and let me know if I succeeded!
Jo Fooks- Tenor Saxophone and Melodyhorn
Ted Beament-Piano
Dave Cliff-Guitar

Jo formed her quartet in 2004 with Simon Purcell on piano, Val Manix on bass and Buster Birch on drums. The groups sensitive and suportive philosophy towards music can be heard on Jo's debut album "Here and Now!". Their repertoire entirely comprises of original material and reflects "world music' influences such as Cuban, Brazillian, Reggae and European Jazz. (NEARLY SOLD OUT!)

"...wonderfully mature and assured playing... an album that's staggeringly good.." - Humphrey Lyttleton on radio 2's 'Best of Jazz'
