My Dream
It is midday in springtime when all things seem to be bursting into life. I find myself in the most beautiful forest. I am completely at peace surrounded by total beauty. I see the sunbeams filtering through the trees and settling on the flowers, ferns and lush moss of the forest floor. I see butterflies and hear the sound of birds in the distance. I suddenly am aware of the sound of rushing waters which seem to beckon me, as I approach these waters I find an elderly man sitting beneath a massive tree. With his white beard and strong, kind eyes, the man emits a radiant aura of beautiful colors. Not wanting to disturb him I quietly sat in front of him until he felt my presence and gazed upon me with a kindness that enveloped my entire being.
In awe I ask, “How can you send out these beautiful colors and can you teach me how to do it?”
He smiles at me. “Your request brings back fond memories for me because one day long ago I saw my own teacher doing the same thing and I ask the same question.” As an answer, he opened his chest and removed his heart. From within it, he took a radiant flame. He opened my chest and placed the flame inside my heart. From that moment on, everything changed inside me, for that flame awakened within a desire to share. I felt the flame of that awakening and it became a consuming fire.
I shared with and gave unconditionally to every cell in my body. That day I became one with my own body.
I decided to share with my mind. I shared with every emotion, every thought, every feeling and every dream. That fire transformed my mind completely and my mind returned my sharing so much so that the fire grew even more and I had the need to share even more.
I decided to share with every tree, every flower, every blade of grass and all the plants in the entire forest. They reacted to me and in return we became one.
However, still the flame grew more and more so I had even a greater desire to share. I then placed a piece of the flame in every stone, in the dirt, in all the metal of the earth, and they all responded to me. We became one.
My flame still grew. So I shared it with all domestic animals that exist, the birds, and the beast of the wild. They returned my sharing and protected me. We became one.
The growth of the flame was unending so I decided to give to the water. I shared with the rain, the snow, the rivers, the lakes, the oceans, and I became one with the water.
When my flame continued to grow, I decided to give to the atmosphere, the breeze, the storms, and we became one and they returned my gift tenfold.
The growth of my flame did not end there. It grew even more and I turned my face to the sky where I saw the sun, the moon, the stars and the space between the stars. I then shared with them all and they returned my giving. We became one.
Again, my flame expanded and I wished to share it with every human, with the elders, with every man, woman and child… with all creation.
I realized now, that wherever I go, I have found that I am not a stranger for a piece of me has been there before and is waiting for me!
When I awoke and opened my eyes, I felt that flame become a fire and I realized that the kind sage, sitting beneath that tree, gave me the beauty of sharing Love unconditionally without expecting anything in return and also accepting everything that is returned to me with unconditional Gratitude not making any pre-conditions before I accept. What a divine gift, this aura!
At this moment, I open, in front of your eyes, my heart and take out a small flame and place it in your heart. And may you radiate an aura through the flame of my Love which is the flame of the Creator.
