Let me introduce myself. I am Joe Holiday: I have been a Tenor Saxophonist whose carreer has spanned over 50 years. I have been a featured artist for Prestige and Decca labels in the 50's and 60's. My band has played at Birdland and the Apollo Theater in its heyday. It has appeared on the Tonight Show and the Ernie Kovacs program. In 1994 Prestige released Mambo Jazz, a digitally remastered compilation featuring 23 cuts from four of my albums.
I have played with, among others, Sarah Vaughn, Charlie Parker, Billie Holiday, Max Roach, and Billy Taylor.
Two of my songs made it to the Top 5 ! : This is Happiness (which stayed on top of the charts for 18 weeks) and Serenada which was later recorded by Sarah Vaughn.
