Joe Farah's Privately Bred Reptiles

Nature and Science

About Me

From as far back as I can remember I have been consumed by a love for reptiles and amphibians. It all started when I was just a toddler and my father would take me fishing around our home near Ithaca, NY. Instead of trying to fish, I was much more interested in catching the snakes, turtles, and amphibians that could be found at my dad's favorite spots. Unfortunately for my mother, there were always several reptiles in our house - including 1 or 2 on the loose!

Now at 29, I have an amazing little 2 year-old daughter and I work as a Geophysical Technician in the Petroleum Industry. The work is challenging, but it pays well and has allowed me to finally get the reptile collection I have always dreamed of. Life is good.

In my free time I really enjoy hiking and field herping around my home in Colorado. Obviously I spend a lot of time with my animals (including my daughter), which is my favorite way to pass the day. I am also a HUGE Carl Sagan and Richard Dawkins fan and I enjoy reading their books.

The reptiles I maintain and the techniques I employ are a personal statement, reflecting my life-long passion for herpetology.
