Joe Slawson was born in the early morning hours in Ringling Oklahoma, behind the corner drug store, with his Grandmother Kate Jones as the nurse.

He spent his childhood growing up in Rush Springs Oklahoma, with his brothers, Robert and Jerry. The three were a close-net trio.

After graduating from Rush Springs High School he moved to West Texas, to start his life out in the oil fields. From there he moved to the panhandle of Texas before moving back to Oklahoma.

Joe entered a contest at Apache Oklahoma, where he won a couple of Golden Boot Awards.

He was hooked on entertaining from that point on.

“I was proud to have won the awards, but I enjoyed all the performers, and I believed that all of them should have won!”

Joe wrote a story called “My Boy” which he got very high reviews locally.

Since My Boy he has wrote several more stories, “When Hell Rises©”, “Lost Soul©”, “Two Little Buckaroos©”, “Day Before Yesterday©”, just to name a few.

Since the stories, He started writing songs, with the help of his youngest son Travis Slawson.

“One of my favorite songs that I wrote is called "Growing Away©" which Travis and I wrote about his older brother, Shawn.”

He has completed a songs as well, "Living In Okieville©", "Till The Pain Goes Away©"

“I love entertaining, singing, telling my stories, or just making folks laugh. To see the audience smile or laugh, and having a good time is what it's all about.”

He mixes some Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Tex Ritter, and some of my own stories in his full length show.

Joe currently lives in Rush Springs with his wife, Mary, who manages Joe's show's and bookings.

“I really have a blast, and I hope you will too, so come on out to one of the shows.”
