Sentence
30 months for possession (ecstasy tablets) with intent to supply.

Background
Lived in Stockport, Greater Manchester with her baby daughter, Maddie whose drug-dealer father was killed shortly before her birth.

Rachel arrived at Larkhall determined to keep her head down, however, she didn’t count on the attentions of Fenner or Shell Dockley’s violent jealousy. Her nervous, introverted nature made her a natural target for bullies and she lacked the mental and physical toughness needed to defend herself. Although other inmates like Nikki Wade and Monica Lindsey tried to befriend her, they received the brush-off, Rachel’s painful shyness and timidity had long since seen her building a wall to isolate herself from everyone, including those who tried to help her.

Whilst inside Larkhall
At only seventeen years old and nervous by nature, Rachel was a sitting duck for the lascivious attentions of Fenner and the vindictiveness of Shell Dockley. Soon after her imprisonment, Rachel was crushed when she found out that her mum had put her baby daughter, Maddie, into care. As Shell’s jealousy-fuelled bullying got worst and her affair with Fenner started to crumble, Rachel began to realises that there was only one way out.

Reason for leaving
Committed suicide by hanging herself from her bunk.
