This story ... I’m going to share with you is third - hand information (hehe ... 3rd hand because I’m the third person in the chain) ... meaning, I didn’t hear the story directly from the person who saw Jerry and Barbie last year.

Anyway here it is ..., A few days ago, a friend of mine whom I haven’t seen for the past several months called me up. In the course of our discussion, we both found out that we’re Meteor Garden fanatics. She loves Vanness and of course, I told her that Jerry's tops for me. Hehe. Anyway, she told me that she saw her college chum recently. And this friend of hers has a best friend whose older sister has been working in Taiwan for the past 15 years. Let me call this older sister, "Ate" (for non-Filipinos, "Ate" means older sister).

Ate has long been a fan of Barbie Hsu’s ever since she entered show business. Ate always sends pictures of Da S and sometimes, event that of Xiao S’ to her younger sister here in the Philippines. Sometimes, Ate would also send videos of Barbie’s shows in Taiwan. The younger sister didn’t appreciate the pictures and videos because way back in 2000, she didn’t know who Barbie was. Besides, the videos were also in Mandarin. Then when 2001 came, Ate sent her younger sis videos of MG1 (which she had taped) and pics of F4. Once again, the younger sis just kept the videos and pics. She was into Nsync, Westlife, BSB and the like. (Pinoys are really western-oriented so it’s but natural for the younger sister to support the Western artists back then).

But Ate was persistent in letting her younger sis be influenced with her liking for Da S and for F4. She’d even call in the Philippines to translate the dialogues in the videos but the effort had no effect on her sister. The younger sis was really not interested then. Lo and behold, May 2003 saw the launching of MG here. The younger sister suddenly remembered all the pictures and videos sent to her by her Ate 2 years ago. Now, just like all of us, she’s totally loco over F4 and Barbie.
