I have been raising
I purchased my first birds from Daryl in 1983 for 5 bucks a bird. The birds that I got weren't the best that he had but they did produce some descent birds for a novice with my experience. These birds were barely comparable to the birds I have today in many aspects.
The current family that I am working with came to me by way of an older lady friend by the name of Illean Aadlad also of the
I did not now it at the time but Dave Henderson and Carl Schoelkopf had also got some of the same related birds from Ray Parker whom had gotten them from a fancier in Sacramento that was holding birds from Dave Henderson while he was serving in the Army. The fanciers had ended up selling all of Daves birds in the local news paper and Ray bought 2 pairs from this ad in the news paper there.
The birds Dave and Carl got would end up creating the currently line that Dave is still working with today. Daves birds are basically a cousin line to the birds I am working with here.
I have known Dave Henderson for close to 30 years as our mothers use to baby sit each others kids when we were little. I have always been impressed with the way Dave has been able to put birds together year after year and continue to produce high quality rollers. His knowledge of rollers has been a valuable asset to many and will be for a long time to come. I can attribute a lot of my success in raising rollers today my best friend Dave Hendersons influence. We have developed a love and common bond through the years and together we have been able to develop an outstanding line of pigeons.
Over the past 5 years Dave and I have worked very close with the birds and we have developed a family of birds we are very proud of. This family is very competitive at the local and National levels.
If you ever walked into either Daves or my loft you would see just how alike our birds are, its no wonder as our birds all stem from the same genetics. Except for the fact that my birds tend to be more dark checks and black Dave has a lot more recessive red in his birds but the characteristics are virtually identical.

In 2002; Dave, Tod Hess, Don Siggins, Carl Schoelkopf and myself started up a new performance roller club here in Northern California called the Hi Five Roller Flyers aka HFRF. We have all worked to make this a great club that we can all be proud of. Please make a point to visit the HFRF Website from this link and dont forget to leave us a message on our guest book to let us know what you think.
I am kind of new to this website stuff so check back periodically as I will be updating from time to time.
