Afternoon Mixture 2pm to 4pm weekdays presented by myself , is a mixture of music and chat.

( The programme and it's times are subject to confirmation )

The chat could be with a local MP discussing local or national issues of our current time, giving our listeners a chance to voice their views by a telephone link to the studio.

On other occasions a local Doctor would , discuss medical points and will take your calls and give advice, listeners on subjects of a delicate matter can be anonymouse and would encourage Emails
Studio: studio@...pirationfm.com also a text system will be set up too. (more details about a text line that at a later date)

Also a  celebrity will be invited in to the studio, or by telephone call to chat about their lastest project etc.

On the last R.S.L , i started a "Brain Teaser" , for example

Coffee Riddle

George, Helen, and Steve are drinking coffee.

Bert, Karen, and Dave are drinking cola.

Using logic, is Elizabeth drinking coffee or cola ?

The Solution------------------------------------------------------------------

Elizabeth is drinking coffee. The letter E appears twice in her name, as it does in the names of the others that are drinking coffee.

In the last R.S.L, listners were either texting, telephoning their answers on their theory of what the solution may be, the answers my be ironic and funny and keeps the programme light hearted, this banter carried on throughout the show, after each music track and lasted to the end of the show.

Music for the show is a mixture of contemporary chart music mixed with the classics of yesterday, and i
encouraged the listeners to either text their dedications , telephone, or email to the studio. Listeners were using all systems to leave messages, for example a company workforce would make quick call , for a "shout out" to them, this was very popular last time Inspiration was on air.

About Jerry Wright

History

Always loved to play music really, before i could at actually read the lables at the tender age of five years of age,
i can remember going around my grannies home, where my uncle also lived , and he told me who was on the tracks,
i then put the records on the Morphy Richards record player, i would then announce the artists and the song.

Clacton-On- Sea
My Gran and Grandfather had a severn birth caravan (trailer) and it was permanently at the Point Clear site.
In the evenings i used to look forward to the sites club room for teenagers, we all went there and there was
a disc jockey there , he claimed he was a "Radio Caroline" DJ , something i never confirmed or had denied,
but that never mattered really, this disc jokey making a fool of himself i thought,
" i could do better than that" !
I asked if i could do a turn whilst he had a break, i did a hour, and during the summer months, whilst on my
school summer holidays i toured with this dj and we went to Walton-On-The Naze, Essex , i was in the back of his
Escort van , and sitting amongst his disco player, speakers and records, it really was a fantastic experience, i
carried the disco equipment into the venue, and helped with the set up, then done a hour set of the tunes of the day .

Started My Own Disco Roadshow
My father went to Tottenham Court road shops in London, and bought me my first disco unit player
two B.S.R. decks, then had a carpenter he knew build me a large bass speaker, and and we bought a 100 watt amplifier.
So i had my first system, and i already had an extensive record collection.
All i  needed was my first gig, that was not hard to find, i did them for free to start with,
so word of mouth took off and i was out playing in village halls, working mens clubs, factory canteens, etc  doing 18th and 21st birthdays, engagement, weddings,
corporate funtions, you name it i done it. I travelled from Northampton to Luton, Milton Keyens, Newport Pagnel, to name but a few.
I worked during the day at food manufacturer and there must have been a thousand workers there, i placed a business
card on the notice board initially, and from there it really took off, because with a thousand workers there was always someone either
having a birthday or getting engaged, or they knew someone, who just happened to know someone.

Purple Cat Mobile Disco
So after drinking less beer, i saved the money i would have drank in beer on a weekend, gosh that was hard, lol
and bought more top of the range stuff from Doug Marriot , he is also a dj and co owned a disco shop called Funkshun,
which was on the Wellingborough road, Abington, Northampton, UK. for sale and hire of top notch lighting,
sound players , amplifiers and speakers.

Records
I bought most of my records from "John Levers", Gold Street. And Spinadisc Records,
Abington Street, Northampton.  both shops alas no longer open in the town.

Driven by dad

I could not even drive, for many years before i passed my driving test, my father ( John) , took me around in his
Ford Cortina Estate, and my father helped me set up , he would then go home, he would then return just before
the slow dance set, he he, remember the slow set, where you grabbed a girl and danced real close.

Hospital Radio

Done a few years at Radio Nene Valley, formerly known as  'Radio Titania', but that name changed,
the name of course had to go, as the station became known as a shortened version of it's name -
'Radio Tit', which was less than dignified.

Went around all the wards collecting patients requests for a couple of hours each day, having a laugh with the patients
and indeed the nurses, who's bedrooms were on next door to the studio, the studio was a converted Nurse's bedroom.

The record library was extensive , we were on every record lable mailing list at , because we used to broadcast via landline
to Harborough Road, Manfield and as far away a Creaton Hospitals, i even remember a chap that used to broadcast from the
Northampton county ground, where the local Northampton Town FC used to be.
My years there i remember Steve Riches, Mick Hanslik
,Keith Kennedy (Ritchie), Trevor Gordon

Inspiration FM

I met Steve Brown playing the tunes at  "Basement" , which was a 70's Music themed basement bar.
I was at the time working for  as a door  supervisor ( bouncer) , and before we opened, and after we closed,
i used to play some tunes and did the introductions on the microphone, it was then that Steve realised i had
dee Jayed for many years, and asked me if i would like to broadcast on Inspiration FM, and was given the
Monday night midnight to 2am Slow Jams for the first R.S.L., then i was asked by Mark Dean if i would like the
Afternoon Mix slot 2pm to 4pm , which i did, and enjoyed it. I did both my weekday shows and the Monday night slot,
i also have been a guest presenter on Steve Browns Soul Classic programme.

Tell us an anecdote

The Perfect Girl

A friend asked a gentleman how it is that he never married ?

Replied the gentleman, "Well, I guess I just never met the right woman ... I guess I've been looking for the perfect girl."

"Oh, come on now," said the friend, "Surely you have met at least on girl that you wanted to marry."?

"Yes, there was one girl .. once. I guess she was the one perfect girl ..

the only perfect girl I really ever met. She was just the right everything .. I really mean that she was the perfect girl for me."

"Well, why didn't you marry her," ? asked the friend.

"She was looking for the pefect man," he said.
