Elective- Seasonal Stargazing
Taught by: Prof. Robert Travers

This will be a completely RP class where the professor will take the students either out to the back lawn, the roof or in the winter to the magical planetarium and teach them about the stars and constellations of that season. Below is the format for the Autumn Stargazing class.

    Lesson 1- The North Star and the Night sky. A general overview of mapping your way by the stars with the north star as your guide.

    Lesson 2- September constellations: Aquila, Capricornus, Cygnus, Delphinus, Equuleus, Indus, Microscopium, Pavo, Sagitta, & Vulpucla. Any and all of these may be covered. Also the Autumn Equinox.

    Lesson 3- October Constellations: Aquarius, Cepheus, Grus, Lacerta, Octans, Pegasus, Piscis Austrinus. Any and all of these may be covered.

    Lesson 4- November Constellations: Andromeda, Cassiopeia, Phoenix, Pisces, Sculptor, & Tucana.

    Extra Credit- Choose a constellation from the forthcoming month of December and complete a class presentation on it. Constellations: Aries, Cetus, Eridanus, Fornax, Horologium, Hydrus, Perseus, Triangulum. Each student chooses one, doubles come after all are taken and approved by the professor. Can also be allowed to work in groups.

GRADING

Grading will be based on your activity (posting), as well as asking and answering questions. Any misbehavior or disrespect to the professor or other students will lower your great or warrant deduction of house points or possibly even detention! Points will be awarded for participation, right answers and helping other students.  Any student receiving a final grade of O in the class will be awarded 100 house points.

ENROLLMENT

I accept an unlimited number of students, from any year level, that wish to apply.  You must complete and the class sign up form in the course area as well as enroll for hte class through your student office in order to accepted to the class.  If you fail to do so, you iwll not be added to the class list and can not participate in the class. 

EXPECTATIONS

This class is role play based, therefore I expect just that.  I expect at least five posts per lesson per character.  If you are going to be absent from the site for 2 days or more, I expect an excused absence notice to be PMed to me.  If you fall inactive in my course and fail, you will not be allowed to take any course of mine, or in my department in the future.  This class moves fast so please keep up!
