Wings

Light

And it’s depth

Of endless treasures

Life

Blossoming

With it’s many layers

Of wings

That call to me

…take flight

…take flight

The Arrow’s Journey

We wear no mask

Upon our face

We walk around

Made of glass

Easily shattered

Wounded or broken

We aim our arrow

Straight for our target:

Happiness

What gets in the way?

The loss of innocence

A tree

Our own hands

Surrender

Branches grow leaves

New life sprouting

Life emerging

Head first

Into the world

What is the answer?

SURRENDER

(easier said than done)

Across the Flame

Sparing nothing

But nickels

In the chance that lofty thought

Remain unhinged

And quietly

Though unspoken

Altered arrows

Through the flesh

Wounding even you

Specks of dust

On quiet nights like these

I took down

The pictures

Melted frames into pieces

And waltzed across the flame

Of hunger

Eaten by tender flesh

And reduced to

Utter irony

I spent the day regressed

Open As Can Be

Fire begins again

Be sweetness

When I touch your skin

Let loving arms

Surround me

Oh love

Don’t you know

My heart is in

Your hands

Open as can be

No steel nor stone

To protect me

No thorn

Upon my crown

Jewels Of Awe

Cast a thousand bones into the night

And let loose the chains of boredom

Let me be born into the world of

Enchantment

Repeatedly and without caution

Let my steps take me up stairs

Bearing light

And

Irresistible fruits

Jewels of awe

Endless Beauty

Dream…

Into being

Happiness

Of a garden

Planted with seeds

Of joy

Growing into

Full blooms

Of peaceful contentment

Blossoming

Into light

Filled of

Endless beauty

Death

I’ll never see your face again

Or hear your laughter

As days go by

I remember you still

As you were

When you were still here

With swollen tears

And a heart that aches

I’ll never again

Feel your embrace

Even though your spirit is here

It’s just not the same

As hearing your voice

And seeing you near

No more tomorrows

Will hold you

Only yesterday remains

Yet the sun still sets and the stars burn bright

The morning becomes day

The day becomes night

But you are not here

And the sorrow and pain

That death can claim

Bring heavy hands

It’s just not the same

And I wish that you were still here

With footsteps light

And laughter long

Upon My Soul

On ground of sacred Earth

The ringing of bells

Can be heard

Calling us to remember

A truth veiled lightly

In a blanket of forgetfulness

I’ll find me there

Where angel’s songs

Upon my ears

Do greet the morning sun

And in the cracks

My worthiness

I left unkempt

In a long forgotten place

Sullen

The road more frequently traveled

When joy forgot her face

The child inside

A voice so long unheard

Safely tucked into the womb

Of love’s sweet arms

Woven of all that glitters

Courting

We walk

Hand in hand

Oblivious to the shadow

Courting the synergy of

What has always been

There

A sure smile

A lover’s symphony

I spoke

To your heart

For it called me

With it’s brave intensity

And in passing months

I swam it’s

Deep ocean

You spoke

To my heart

For it called you

It’s own

Rising

Of desire

And love’s breath

We Began

Many tides

Rolling into my heart

Fingers like bows

Take their aim

Sharp as the sky

On a cold winter’s day

I will give you

All the sunrise

Has to offer

Blue skies

Calling me again

Lift the heaviness

From your hands

With a sweet smile

Tell time

It has no reason

To worry

We began

With always written

Across destiny

With Open Hands

People in cars

Gathering secret

Seashores

Playing mystical guitars

Not a casual sunrise

In sight

The scent of

Sacred rosebuds

Filling the air

Yesterday

A foreign word

To the ocean

Of fruits

Weary

Come to me

With a calm heart

And peaceful words

For I am tired

And the only thing

I can find

In my closet to wear

Is despair

I don’t know where

Along the way

I became lost

But I am weary

Caught in confusion

My strength

Seems to be wearing thin

Where are my angels now?

As Timeless As Creation

Bring joy

To this table

My worn out heart

Tired from

Disappointments

Bad choices

Wrong turns

Accepts

This face

As its own

Bring love

To this room

Mending

What was broken by time

Reconciling false beliefs

With the magic

Of its touch

The softness of its reach

Bring laughter

To this home

Uplifting views

Of serious disdain

Releasing illusions

Inviting life in though

Doors that were closed

By harsher lessons of life

Bring light

In its purest form

The dance of the soul

The flight of the heart

An embrace

As timeless as creation

(this poem is in my book Poetry for and from the Soul as well as an anthology of poems called Expressions.)

Casting Away Shadows

The light has come

To cast away the shadows

In time’s remaining hands

All that was left undone

Becomes a finished chore

Dancing into the light

Of remembrance

Of who I am

My sacredness

A key I have turned

Unlocking

My worthiness

With timid hands

That forgot

How to shine

The shadows barely there

Anymore

As they come

Into the light

To merge

Into wholeness

Higher Ground

The journey

Through time

An endless road

I found my

Higher ground

The victory

Of the ages

The triumphant sound

Of

Angels singing

Reflection

Daylight breaking

Sunlight on the water

The sounds of harmony

Echoing

Through my soul

Reflections

On the water

My own image

Staring at me

Wakeful eye

Disturbing

The fantasy of illusion
