Kamen Rider Hibiki, translated as Masked Rider Echo Demon, is a Japanese tokusatsu television series. It is the sixteenth installment in the famous Kamen Rider series of tokusatsu programmes. It takes a turn from other Kamen Rider shows and introduces new themes and styles yet unseen in other shows. Kamen Rider Hibiki is about the battle between a Japanese secret organization called Takeshi and an assortment of monstrous creatures called Makamo. The story is often told from the perspective of Adachi Asumu, a 14 year-old student who has befriended Hibiki, one of the combatant agents of Takeshi, under some unexpected circumstances.

The television series debuted on TV Asahi on January 30, 2005. Kamen Rider Hibiki is on the outside about the age old battle between a Japanese organization known as Takeshi, the monstrous creatures called Makamo, and Takeshi's Oni agents who fight the creatures. Hundreds of years ago, the Oni and humans were enemies and the Makamou roamed free, killing innocent people. It wasn't until a young boy and seven Oni banned together to defeat the Makamou that humans began to trust the Oni. On the inside, the story is about the personal growth of a young boy named Adachi Asumu as he struggles to find his place and understand what his destiny is.

Many fans feel that the ending to Kamen Rider Hibiki was inconclusive while others feel that it gave the story a nice closure. There are however a few loose ends that need to be tied up story wise, and while it may not have been the highest rated series, there are rumors of Kamen Rider Hibiki getting a second season under the name Ongeki Rider Hibiki marketed as a spin off of the Kamen Rider line, and as a continuation of Kamen Rider Hibiki. Ironically, Ongeki Rider Hibiki was also one of the production names for Kamen Rider Hibiki. Two particular things that have caused these rumors, are the appearance of Gouki, Touki, Shouki and Banki at the end of Kamen Rider Hibiki's run. Along with a two page special with the current 11 kanto Oni in a giant battle, featured in the japanese Tokusatsu magazine "Terebi". Shouki even had the stunt actor Oshikawa Yoshifumi casted to him (As with makoto Itho).
