Tarrant Apparel Group said Wednesday it has signed a license agreement with J.S. Brand Management to design, make and distribute Jessica Simpson branded jeans and casual apparel.

J.S. Brand Management is owned by Andrew Sport. The lines are expected to launch at the department store and better specialty store level in the fall. The clothes will be available in missy, junior and large sizes.

Using reality show star and singer Jessica Simpson's name will allow Tarrant to have an original and spirited lifestyle brand, said Barry Aved, president and chief executive officer at Tarrant.

Los Angeles-based Tarrant Apparel Group (Nasdaq: TAGS) serves specialty retailers, mass merchants, national department stores and branded wholesalers.

Simpson already has a cosmetics line that sells at San Francisco-based Sephora stores. The line, called Dessert, is edible. The line, which has no calories, also includes fragrances and bath products.

Sephora USA LLC operates around 90 stores in the United States and is one of the largest cosmetics and fragrance retailers in Europe.

In this skin? Nah, Jessica Simpson wants you in her clothes.

The pop diva has signed a $10 million licensing deal with Andrew Sports Club to develop her own fashion line, the New York Daily News reported.

Sports Club CEO Andrew Kirpalani said his company would develop a line of kids' clothing, dresses, hats, watches, jewelry and underwear under JS Brand Marketing.

The duds will be sold under the Jessica Simpson and Sweet Kisses brand names and are due to hit fine stores such as Federated, Sears and JCPenney in time for next year's back-to-school shopping season.

The "With You" singer also plans to introduce the clothes on the third season of her hit MTV reality show, Newlyweds.

Both Simpson and her mother, Tina, reportedly intend to get involved with designing for the line, which will feature casual clothes with undertones of the popster's preferred styles, according to Kirpalani, who flew to California to meet with the Simpson family.

"Jessica loved our knit tops and the way we use beading and rhinestones," he told the Daily News. "She's crazy about long ponchos. And especially jeans."

Kirpalani said his company was also in negotiations with Reebok to develop a line of Jessica Simpson shoes.

The enterprising Simpson already has her own line of edible beauty products, dubbed Dessert, which includes products such as Deliciously Kissable Body Shake and Deliciously Kissable Sugar Scrub in flavors such as caramel and sweet butter.

However, it seems that Simpson's Dessert has left a bad taste in a cosmetics company's mouth.

Last month, California-based company Cosmojet sued Simpson, Dessert Beauty and cosmetics retailer Sephora, claiming that it produced nearly $1 million worth of products for the Dessert line, but was paid for only about $800,000, according to documents posted on Celebrity Justice's Website.

According to Cosmojet's suit, lack of payment caused "irreparable harm" to the company's cash flow and it is seeking funds in the amount of $189,077.71, plus interest and court fees.

Simpson released a statement through her publicist denying any knowledge of the matter and vowing to take legal action in return.

"Jessica Simpson is a spokesperson for Dessert products and has no involvement in the day-to-day operation of the company's business. Ms. Simpson has no knowledge whether Cosmojet's claim has any basis, nor does she have any responsibility for the company's accounting and billing procedures or payment obligations," the statement read.

"Ms. Simpson does intend to vigorously dispute Cosmojet's meritless claims against her and to take legal action against Cosmojet for involving her in this matter."

Apparently, Simpson works hard for her money?and she wants to keep it.

In addition to her ventures into the world of cosmetics and fashion, Simpson is preparing to release both a Christmas CD and a live DVD of her Reality Tour, just in time for the holiday season.

Her Christmas CD, ReJoyce The Christmas Album, is dedicated to her late grandmother (who was named Joyce, get it?), and features duets with her husband, Nick Lachey and sister, Ashlee.

The Jessica Simpson Reality Tour Live DVD features one of her performances from her successful 2004 nationwide tour. Both the DVD and the CD will be available in stores on Nov. 23.

Meanwhile, Simpson continues to expand her exposure on both the small and big screens. She and Lachey are currently filming a third season of Newlyweds, despite the fact that they just celebrated their second anniversary and she also snared the role of Daisy Duke in the upcoming remake of The Dukes of Hazzard.

The popster has been nominated for two People's Choice awards: Favorite Remake for her single "Take My Breath Away" and Favorite Reality Show for Newlyweds. She's also nominated for two American Music Awards?Favorite Female Artist and Favorite Album for In This Skin.

And, just when you thought she couldn't saturate the market any further, Simpson will return to ABC with Lachey on Dec. 1 for the couple's second variety hour, titled Nick & Jessica's Family Christmas.

Pop idol Jessica Simpson is preparing to roll out her own clothing lines, with the clothes timed to hit U.S. stores when her new movie hits the theaters. The Wall Street Journal reports that the singer has not been busy with patterns, pins and shears. The clothes, while inspired by Simpson's personal style, are the work of a top designer for Tarrant Apparel Group, with Simpson giving final approval. Read more.

Simpson Sisters Fight Over New Wardrobe
Pop beauty Jessica Simpson is locked in an ongoing wardrobe row with her younger sister Ashlee. The 24-year-old The Dukes of Hazzard star singer is furious with her pop star sibling Ashlee - who is four years her junior - for constantly sneaking into her home and stealing her newly-bought clothes. Jessica says, "Oh my gosh, she steals my clothes all the time. I steal hers. We fight about it. "You know, every time I get something new, it disappears. "She comes over to my house without me knowing and it's gone. I go back to her house when she's not there and take it back."

Pop beauty JESSICA SIMPSON considered renewing her vows to husband NICK LACHEY in a private ceremony - because their October 2002 wedding was spoilt by the intrusive cameras filming them for MTV reality show NEWLYWEDS: NICK AND JESSICA. The IRRESISTIBLE star would love to become a bride for a second time, because she could have another bachelorette (hen) party and enjoy a ceremony without the public scrutinising her big day. She says, "Nick and I did think of renewing our vows in a private ceremony. "It's be great to be a bachelorette again. I had a really wild bachelorette party."

our next season of newlyweds starts january 21st. it is going to be as funny as last season. you know me, i am always saying something crazy. the show is going to start with our first wedding aniversary... don't miss it.

Hey everybody! I just want to thank all of you for being so supportive and loving towards me as an artist and as a person. I want all of you to know. It is important to me to sell albums and do well as a music artist but more importantly I want to be a person. Someone you can laugh with, cry with, love with and smile with. I want each of you to feel special and loved by me through my actions in my daily life. This is why I love doing The Newlyweds because it gives you an opportunity to relate to me. Thanks for all the support of the show. It has been so successful and we are currently shooting the second season! I promise you more crazy Jessica moments!

As we are approaching Thanksgiving, I would like to say THANK YOU to each of you. I am so thankful for all the amazing gifts God has given to me and you fans are a very large gift. Well, it has finally arrived! I've got a new album........ I can hardly believe that it has been two years. I want to thank you guys for being so patient and waiting with me for this coming week. This record is really scary for me. It is the first time you guys really get to hear me sing my personal thoughts. Of course, you know that they are all about Nick!!!!! I love being in love. I only pray that each of you guys is as lucky as me some day.

My prayer in writing this album is that when you have finished listening to it, you feel like you know me. There is a song about my own personal struggle with self esteem. It is called "In This Skin". It is dedicated to you. My hope is that from my own struggle and discovery, you will grow with me. You know we really are beautiful in the skin God has given us!!!!! I would also want you to be careful to the voices you listen to in your life. I have struggled with what others thought about me for years. They have told me that I should be thinner or my hair should be different or whatever. In the last two years I have really begun to listen to the voice inside of me. The one that keeps whispering "Your beautiful in this skin". I pray that this song will be something that we can all learn from.
Anyway, I could go on and on about each song. I hope you love it as much as I do.

I also have a new tv show! You guys are going to laugh. Let me know what you think. I better go. I am off to tape a show. Keep your fingers crossed for a good week. Make everyone you know get a copy.......please. I hope to see some of you in New York next week!!!

Cowritten by Jessica -- with contributions from Fran Gold, Damon Elliott and Trina Harmon, and production by Ric Wake and Rob Fusari, In This Skin shines a light on a side of Jessica that she's never had the opportunity to let free. "I've been searching my soul for things I wanted to sing about and things I wanted to say and so I came up with this record, "Jessica explains. "When people listen to this record it will make them happy."

That's because the songs on In This Skin reflect the happiness and growth that Jessica has been experiencing. Now married to long time beau Nick Lachey (of 98 Degrees) and firmly in control of her life and creative output, Jessica has reached deep inside to come up with an album that may well be most personal of her career. In This Skin might be Jessica's third collection but, in terms of emotional honesty and stylistic range, it is, in a real sense, the first album that's truly her own. That's because In This Skin marks Jessica's debut as a songwriter and her lyrical and musical influences fuel the album's thematic journeys. "I've wanted artistic control for a long time but in the past I wasn't able to get it," she confesses. "Being in charge of your creative destiny is beautiful for any artist, especially someone like me who wants to sing about positive things and to inspire others. This time I really wanted to make an album that was real and organic and that you could listen to all the way through and maybe be inspired to fall in love or follow your dreams. "

That sense of liberation is abundant on the album's first single "Sweetest Sin." Written by hit maker Diane Warren and produced by Ric Wake, "Sweetest Sin" is unabashedly carnal and, as Jessica notes, a marked change from the giddy teen pop that launched her career. "I'm not dancing around this time," she laughs. "I'm not wearing that head set mic ever again in my life!"

A celebration of love, her marriage, and making love, "Sweetest Sin" signals a new artistic direction for Jessica. "You'll definitely know I'm a woman after hearing this song," she offers. "It's a deeply sensual song but it's also romantic and recording it was one of the most natural things I've done. It's so great to be able to sing about things you're going through because it makes you relate even more to the music which makes that music beautiful."

In This Skin is filled with both beauty and love, with lyrics drawn from personal experiences and journal entries to create an album resonating with a captivating reality. Just listen to the bittersweet ballad "You Don't Have To Let Go." "I wrote that song for my dad," Jessica says. "It was so hard for him to walk me down the aisle and for him to handle the idea that I was getting married and, in his eyes, leaving. So I wrote this song for him about our relationship and all that he sacrificed for me."

"Underneath," an emotional ode to the ups and downs of romantic love, was penned during a turbulent period in Nick and Jessica's relationship when the pair embarked an ill-fated separation. Jessica cites the love and support of her fans as the motivation behind the album's title track's message of determination. Set to a gentle acoustic-laced groove "In This Skin" is, according to Jessica, about "...being comfortable in your own skin, being worthy and feeling beautiful. I wrote in the liner notes that this is for all the fans. I want them to listen to the song and let the lyrics serve as an inspiration."

Inspiration and spirit have always been crucial to Jessica. From the beginning of her career she has aimed to be more than just some cutie pie teen star: she's always invested her songs with positive outlooks and lived her life in a manner that stays true to her beliefs.

Jessica Simpson first made her mark in the world of contemporary Christian music. Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Jessica was sharing bills with gospel great Kirk Franklin and Ce Ce Winans while still in junior high. Word of the then-teen's phenomenal voice and stage presence soon filtered out of the Christian circuit and, in the late 90's, Jessica signed with Columbia Records. Sweet Kisses, her major label debut, was released in 1999 and spawned the smash singles "I Wanna Love You Forever," "I Think I'm In Love," and "Where You Are." Following the release of her debut, Jessica hit the road, wowing audiences worldwide with her soaring emotion-packed vocals and high-energy stage presence. "It was an amazing time for me," Jessica recalls. "I was 17 and seeing the world, doing what I loved and doing it in a way that felt right."
