Hi, and welcome to Jenuine Ragdolls.
We are a small closed cattery located in Bayside Brisbane (Qld), and we are registered with the QFA (QLD Feline Association No. 867). All our Ragdoll cats (fur-kids) are part of our home and our extended family. Our cats are our "babies", and are treated as such. They live with us, and are a major part of our home lives.
We only breed naturally and selectively, to ensure the best quality and ethics of the breed. We also socialise our new babies with other cats, dogs and children to help ensure they will fit in with their new families.
Ragdolls are 100% indoor cats that need a safe and loving indoor home. Since they have little or no hunting/fighting instinct, they must live indoors. This also gives ragdolls an extremely friendly and non-aggressive personality, and they are very sociable and extremely affectionate.
They are fairly large cats and have a long soft coat (that doesn't need constant grooming or shed a lot). Usually, a weekly brushing is all that's needed to keep their coat looking great.
Ragdolls can be easily trained (even walking on a leash) but are normally very quiet and not very energetic. They get on very well with adults, children and other pets, and are very friendly and affectionate. Ragdolls are also great companions for older and retired people, since they'll lay in your lap for hours lapping up the attention.
Ragdoll cats don't like to be left alone for long periods, or take care of themselves. They are not "mousers" or independent wandering (outdoor) souls that you will only see at meal times. Ragdolls want to be with you every minute you're at home, even in the bathroom or shower. They want to be with you, play with you etc, and love to be spoilt with lots of cuddles and hugs.
As such, a Ragdoll is not for everyone. We are very careful who we will re-home a Ragdoll cat or kitten with. This includes their new family's lifestyle, home, environment, pets and other family members.
For that reason, we will only place our Ragdolls with approved families, that will give them lots of love and attention, and can provide a suitable and loving indoor home.
If you think you’re ready to give your life over to (or to be owned by) a Ragdoll cat, please give us a call on 0403 510-732 or e-mail us at jenuineragdolls@bigpond.com .
We encourage all prospective "parents" to ask as many questions, and to find out as much as possible before adopting a Ragdoll. After all, it's a big commitment, and we want to ensure the very best homes for our furr-kids.
Also, be sure to read the information, conditions and prices etc on our Kittens page, and when enquiring, please tell us a little bit about yourselves as well.
Enquiries from registered breeders are always welcome.
