Jenrock Collie Kennels

Pages from the past and present

Introduction:

In the city of Melbourne, Australia, the name "Jenrock Kennels" was very active in the 60's and 70's with a number of important Collies of the day being a part of that kennel.

The active participants in the kennel were the late Harry Rizzetti and his son-in-law Bob Bell following the marriage of Harry's daughter Jennifer way back in 1969.

From the start, because of the active business lives of both Harry and Bob, it was never the Kennels intention to be big in breeding, but more to exhibit Collies of quality and to provide a team of stud dogs readily available to all for the improvement of the breed.

Whilst their showing and breeding of Collies ceased quite a number of years ago, Bob Bell is still very active in the Dog World as an administrator and International All Breeds Judge.

Having 'surfed the net' on a number of ocassions and reading many entries in 'guest books' I could see that many people were interested in seeing and reading about dogs of the past.

With this in mind, I felt it may be of interest to many of the newcomers interested in the Collie (Rough) to see one area of history in regard to this most wonderful breed of dog.   Truely the most beautiful of the canine race.

Unfortunately, a couple of very important photo albums have gone missing over the years, having been borrowed and never returned, so many interesting photographs of a number of dogs have gone forever.
