COMEBACK
15/09/05 Finally the time has come! After nearly a year of injury Jennifer is scheduled to return this October in Linz. The starting tournament date is the 24th. Jen is not known for playing many tournaments at this time of the year, partly to do with the travel back to Europe at a late time in the season. Maybe this is the comeback full of surprises, so lets prepare for Jen to kick some ASSSS!
INJURY
Since November 04 Since November Jennifer has been injured because of her shoulder and a newly found wrist injury. Because of such occurences she has had to withdraw fro many tounaments, unfortunately missing the first three Grandslams of the year. Hopefully Jen aims to be back for the US Open where she can get some revenge!!!
AUSTRALIAN OPEN
15/01/05 Unfortunately Jen has had to withdraw from the Australian Open, because of the shoulder injury she gained whilst playing an exhibition late last year. However because Jennifer didn't play last year, she will not lose any points. Jen has quoted that she hopes to be back in action, late Febuary/ March after getting more practice. This is Jen's year, so as long as she is fit, it will be great! Look out for Jen!
EXHIBITION
18/12/04 Jen was scheduled to play the Hurricane Slam Exhibition to benefit those who have been affected by hurricanes in America, however because of a slight shoulder injury she was unable to compete. Therefore Jen participated by signing autographs and completing other activities visit the photo's page to see a picture of Jen at this event.
PHILIDELPHIA
06/10/04 Unfortunately Jen ended her journey at Philadelphia, she faced Vera Zvoneravera in the Quarters, for a possible spot at the Year End Championship. Although the score line did not show so, the match was close however Vera came out to better player, the overall score was 6-0, 6-1. This meant that Jen would not be able to qualify for the Year End Championships. We should all be pleased with how well Jen did this season, lets hope she gets lots of rest and is ready for 2005!

04/10/04 Jen won her first match since the US Open yesterday, she played Meghann Shaughnessy of the US. The last match Jennifer played was against Elena Dementieva, like that, the match went to three sets, however Jen came out stronger. Jen battled hard to win the first set 6-4, then Meghann fought back winning the second 6-3, the third set was going to be the decider, Jen had the edge over the rallies with the overall score being 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. She will next face either Nathalie Dechy of France or Vera Zvonareva of Russia in the Quater finals.
FILDERSTADT
01/10/04 Jennifer has withdrawn from her next scheduled tournament, "Porsche Tennis Grand Prix" in Filderstadt, beginning on the 4th of October. Yahoo news claims Jennifer has withdrawn because of flu. Also withdrawing was Serena Williams and Justine Henin Hardenne. Lets hope Jen recovers for her next tournament in philadelphia at the beginning of November.

US OPEN
10/09/04 On Friday Jen played Elena Dementieva the 6th seed, Elena took the 1st set 6-0 with Jen making her usual slow start. In the second the match turned and Jen upped her level to get the set 6-2. The 3rd set was amazing with all sorts of points being played, Jen was up 6-5 however she just could not get those important points. It was taken to a tie break to decide the match, where Elena won 7-5. Although it was a huge dissappointment we have to remember how well Jen fought to get to the semi's.Yesterday Jen defeated Serena in a great match which ended 2-6, 6-4, 6-4., Jen took a while to get started but she found herself in the second set. With her determination she fought to make the game one set all. Jen kept hitting balls back to Serena allowing her to make many unforced errors. It was a great match and i thoroughly enjoyed it!

09/09/04 Jen plays Serena Williams tonight at 7pm US time. Serena is seeded above Jennifer, however Jen is ready to go and she will fight to the end. It will be a tough match and Jennifer will likely make it as interesting as possible, lets hope the end result will be another win at the 2004 US Open!
08/09/04 Jennifer beat Ai Sugiyama in an interesting match yesterday. Ai was leading in the first, but with Capriati's determination she fought back to win the set 7-5. In the second Jen cruised through to make the final score 7-5, 6-2. Jen will next play Serena Williams in the Quater finals tommorow. Both players enjoying competing against each other. It will be a good match to watch.

03/09/04 Jen beat the Russian, Vera Douchevina in her second three setter of the tournament. Jen powered through the first set 6-0, however Vera forgot her nerves in the second to win the tiebreak 7-3. In the third the score was 6-3 with Jen dominating most points. She will now face the 12th seed, Ai Sugiyama.
02/09/04 Jen beat Magui Serna in two easy sets 6-0 6-2, Jen's family was there to watch her play excellent tennis. The match lasted under an hour with Jen making 4 aces in the match. Jen will play Vera Douchevina of Russia In the third round. They will play this friday, the match is scheduled third on Athur Ashe, with the first match starting at 11 am US time. The Russian has only played one US Open and reached the first round, lets hope Jen can stop her from going any further!
01/09/04 Jen beat Denisa in three sets. Jennifer struggled in the first set loosing 6-2. However she regained her fighting spirit and upped her level to make it 1 set all. The third set was straight foward and Jen won it 6-2. Later today she will face Magui Serna of Spain in the 2nd round. The match is scheduled first on the Athur Ashe court at 12am US time. Jen and Magui played together at Eastbourne in 2003 where they reached the finals.
30/08/04 Jen will play against Denisa Chladkova on the first day at the US Open. She is scheduled to play third on the Arthur Ashe stadium. Last year Jen played really well and reached the semi finals!

PILOT PEN TENNIS
Quaterfinal Score Jen lost 6-4, 7-5 to Natalie Dechy last night/early morning. Jennifer said that Dechy played well and there was nothing she could have done. Lets hope Jen regains her true form for the US Open!
Quater Final Preview Jen will now face another French, Natalie Dechy in the quarterfinals, she is scheduled to play at 11pm GMT / 7pm US time.
2nd Round Score Jennifer beat Tatiana Golovin in two straight sets, 6-3, 6-2. Jen seemed to be the better player for most of the match, she took 6-3 in the first and was up 4-2 in the second finishing off the match with two straight games. Congratulations Jen it was a great match
2nd Round Preview Jennifer recieved a first round BYE and will now play agaisnt the young french woman Tatiana Golovin today (24th August). The Pilot Pen schedule shows Jen will not play before 4pm (US time).

Info Jennifer's next tournament is the Pilot Pen presented by Michelob Ultra, where she will defend her title. Last year she beat Lindsay Daveport in the finals 6-2, 4-0 ret however Lindsay retired at 4-0 in the second set.
