When Sex And the City's Sarah Jessica Parker's pregnancy became known, designers from Tom Ford to Manolo Blahnik – who later created a tiny pair of shoes for the newborn – were clamouring to dress her in designer maternity wear.

The star, who is married to actor Matthew Broderick, was the epitome of New York style throughout her pregnancy, combining loose fitting tops and empire-line dresses from Marc Jacobs, Chloe and Chanel with her trademark vintage gear.
