Welcome to the Recruitment page of 1. Kompanie, 16 Fusilier Battalion, 16. Luftwaffe Field Division. We are a World War II German Military Living History Unit. We are Located in Eastern Virginia and South East North Carolina.
The Luftwaffe Field Divisions were made up of surplus Luftwaffe Support Personnel (barbers, cooks, clerks, etc.) that were hastily trained as Combat Troops ( Infantry, Artillery, etc).
We portray the Division Reconnaissance Unit, who's mission was to move forward of the Divisional Units to report back any and all enemy activity. The 1. Kompanie was equipped with bicycles to aid in their reconnaissance duties. However more often then not, the Fusilier Battalions were used by the Division as a Quick Reaction Force to support the other Divisional Units when needed.
