Kedir Keri(? - Present)
Kedir Keri was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He spent his childhood in the beautiful densely forested southwest province of Ethiopia. He attended the Addis Ababa Fine Art School from 1985 to 1989. In 1993 he was accepted into the Painting Department at the Surikov Institute, the studio of Eugeny Maximovitch. In addition to oil painting, Kedir has a strong interest in the art of fresco, scraphito, and stone mosaic.
Exhibitions: (partial list)
1991- Solo exhibition at the Puskin Cultural Center in Addis Ababa
1990-1992- exhibited in the National Museum of Addis Ababa
1992- Exhibition Alliance Ethio-Francais in Addis Ababa.
Kedir has also participated in exhibitions in Moscow, Russia and in Tbilisi and Telavi, Republic of Georgia
Additional Information:
Kedir combines French Impressionism with Russian Academism, to produce poetically powerful images about his childhood in Ethiopia. The hybrid results are works depicting reflections of a thoughtful, delicate and extremely creative artist.
