When relating to others, there is a middle ground between naïveté and cynicism wherein every person desiring to be a content and fully functioning member of society must set up camp; it is a place of social discernment that marks one’s arrival into maturity. However, attempting to do so when one is unduly full of pride is like walking the infamous white line when one is unduly full of alcohol.
