I Saw Cats Live!!

This is a note to all you readers..my whole summary is not all positive remarks..so..please don't get mad at me..I warned you..the whole show wasn't great..most of it was great, but some of it was awful, in my opinion. Now, enjoy my summary of my trip to Biloxi, Misissippi to see Cats..

All about when I saw Cats live. As well as I can remember it....

After my family and I had found our seats at the theater where the Cats was being held, we went to look at all the Cats gifty things you could buy. After a few minutes I had bought a mug with Cats written on the front and the Cat eyes on the back and a pin that said Cats. We went back to our seats and waited for the show to start.

As shows usually do..it started late..but only five minutes late. As soon as they turned off the lights, I could see these shadows sneaking around..of course it was the Cats. One got real close to me and turned on these little cat eye lights that it had on its head (I hope that made sense..I'm not a real good explainer..:P ) It was kinda scary..cause I wasn't expecting it..Anyway..after all the Cats were back on the stage...the stage lights turned on and the music started.

The first song was very good..very very good..even though the cast was smaller than I was expecting..it was only like 12 people at the most. I was surprised... There was no Invitation to the Jellcile Ball. I was pretty bummed out then. But, I was cheered up quicky because the Gumbie Cat song was pretty funny. The cockroach costumes were hilarious! They were much better then the ones on the video. The whole song was done really well. I loved it.

But... as soon as The Rum Tum Tugger started..and we saw Tugger for the first time..I knew right away it was gonna be awful..The guy that played Tugger couldn't sing or dance or anything.. it was sooo awful. I didn't know whether to laugh (cause it was kinda funny seein' Tugger performed so awfully :) cry or be furious.. Well, after 'Dum Dum' Tugger's song was over (yeah..I know..I'm so mean.. :)

Grizzabella's song started. It was actually very good. I liked it. When it was over, of course, I was expecting Bustopher Jones to start..but it didn't.

Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer started right away. It was pretty good considering that they didn't have accents or do their little cartwheel thingy at the end of their song. I did like the extra verses though.

After MJ and RT, Old Deuteronomy started. It was okay..I've never really like the song to begin with. After Old Deut the Jellcile Ball started, there was no Song of the Jellcile Cats, they just started dancing. It was strange because they also cut the dance real short.

After the Jellcile Ball Old Duet sang The Moments of Happiness....I have never liked that song and I never will so...I can't remeber if they did it well or not.

After the Moments of Happines, Gus the Theatre Cat did his song. it was pretty good actually. It was kinda funny, too..I don't know why..it just was. I thought they were going to perfrom Growltiger, because they had him on the list of characters on the program (they had Griddlebone and Genghis too) but they didn't perform it.

Imediatly after Gus's song was over Skimbleshanks started. I love that song! They did a great job with everything, but an especially could job with the train..it was kinda small but cute.

After Skimble it was time for Macavity. It was very good. There was only one thing I didn't understand, when Demeter was singing her first two verses there was one of the toms (I think it was either Plato or Pouncival...not quite sure..you couldn't really tell people apart for some reason) was dancing about ten feet behind her doing the exact same moves she was doing. I didn't get that. It was bothering me..but as soon as Bombalurina started singing..he left. Oh well, I guess I will never know. After Macavity, there was the cat fight (which was cut too short) The guy the played Macavity was HUGE!! I'm glad he never came out im the audience. ;)

After the cat fight. Magical Mr. Mistoffelees started. 'Dum Dum Tugger' almost did an okay job singing his part..it could've been better. As soon as Misto came down from the ceiling it was soooooooo much better!!!! ( I'm a Mistoholic) He did a very very very good job...but..no one could ever do a better job as Misto then....*Jacob Brent* *purr* (if you don't know...which I'm pretty sure you do..he's Misto on the video) But the Misto in the play was a VERY good dancer too..oh yes. His toe touches at the end of the song could've been better but..you could tell he was trying as hard as he could.

After Misto's song Grizz came back and sang Memory. She did a VERY good job. After Memory they did the Journey to the Heaviside Layer. Then they did The Ad-dressing of cats. When Ad-dressing was over the cast ran back out into the audience..but nobody came near us...Mistoffelees went down the middle of the aisle, Victoria went like one or two rows behind us and some cat was a row in front of us. Oh well.

All in all the live version of Cats was great!
