Jelena Cingara was born in 1976 in Novi Sad, Yugoslavia. She received an early introduction to musical education at "Isidor Bajic" elementary music school in Novi Sad.
In 1991 Jelena moved to Toronto, Canada. In Toronto, Jelena attended the RCM (Royal Conservatory of Music). Following the RCM, she continued her education at The University of Toronto, as a piano performance major.
Following her university years, Jelena spent two summers at the Chautauqua Institution where she participated in masterclasses by Rebecca Penneys, professor of piano at Eastman School of Music, USA. Her music education culminated at The University of Toledo, in Ohio where she received her Masters Degree in Piano Performance. Her professor in Toledo was Dr. Michael Boyd.
Currently, Jelena is a DMA candidate at The University of Iowa in piano performance in Iowa City, studying with prof. Rene Lecuona. Jelena's career includes a series of international and national concerts, sixteen years of piano teaching, accompanying, and chamber music. She is a professional, and dynamic individual.
