If you are searching for obituaries for loved ones or friends from the Louisville area you have come to the right place! I assist others in locating obituaries for a very nominal fee!
Obituaries are of great value to the genealogical researcher. They provide information about a surviving spouse, surviving siblings and children. They may also provide the burial location and where the funeral services took place. It is not uncommon that obituaries also provide information as to the age of the descendant and information about their occupation. Once in a while, a photograph is included but in the older newspapers please do not expect a clear, color perfect picture.
Otherwise, you may be searching for obituaries for a simple but meaningful reflection of a lost friend or loved one. Again, wonderful and important additions for scrap booking and family albums.
Either way I am more than happy to help you collect these special mementos.
Generally obituaries are located in The Courier Journal or The Louisville Times, however, other sources are available. Some newspapers can be researched as early as 1868. The obituaries from these newspapers sometimes include information of the death of a person in the surrounding counties...such as Oldham County.
