The Jefferson County Emergency Communications District is located at 112 West Broadway Boulevard in Jefferson City, Tennessee. E911 is in the lower level of the Jefferson City Hall. Dispatchers work in twelve hour shifts with all three dispatch positions staffed twenty-four hours a day.
The communications equipment is maintained by Cartwright Communications in Knoxville, Tennessee. The dispatch consoles are equipped with Positron Phones and powered by Lifeline 100. Radios are Zetron Consoles with Kenwood TK-880 UHF and VHF control stations, also a Kenwood TK-790/890 100 watt UHF/VHF event radio that is used for backup and also for communications with other counties in an emergency.
The Jefferson County Emergency Communications District uses the Geoconex Mapping Software. Geoconex is based out of Knoxville Tennessee. The JCECD has had this system in place for approximately four years. Geoconex has given our district fast and reliable customer support and is always developing more advanced software to better serve their customers.
