Hello and welcome to my sports cards and collectibles page.  I am a Nolan Ryan SuperCollector!  I have been collecting cards since about 1987, and collecting Nolan Ryan since before I can remember. 

I bet you're wondering what "JDThakid36" stands for.  Well the "JD" is a nickname my grandmother called me, ever since I was a little kid in diapers..."Thakid" stands for a saying my grandfather says, "He's lookin' at you kid'" which is also on his license plate....and the number 36 was my college baseball number at North Carolina Wesleyan College.  There ya go...

I am originally from Mechanicsville, VA.  After graduating college, my wife and I bought a house in Bumpass, VA in June of 2005.  Bumpass is a small city in Louisa County, about 20 miles west of Richmond and 50 miles southeast of Charlottesville. 

I am a 26 year old, almost 27, graduate of North Carolina Wesleyan College,where I majored in Business Administration and played 5 years of college baseball.  I played mostly center field, but played a little in right field as a freshman.  I was team MVP as a junior and Second Team All-Conference in 2004.  You can check out the current team, as well as my old stats at http://annex.ncwc.edu/athletics/baseball/index.htm.

My wife and I were married on my BIRTHDAY, July 9, 2005.  We have a duaghter, Haylee Paige, who was born August 28, 2007, and another one on the way!  We also have two dogs, Nolan, a black lab mix named after my idol, and Callie, a Rottweiller mix.  We are currently looking to sell our home in Bumpass and move back to our home town, Mechanicsville.  These tough economic times are not helping!!   

I enjoy collecting cards and trading for anything and EVERYTHING I need of Nolan Ryan, among other things...  I am currently working on my hobby room, which is dedicated to my long time idol NOLAN RYAN.

Currently I have 2108 different cards of Nolan Ryan, including his 1968 Topps RC!  I have numerous items of his, including an autographed Rangers jersey, autographed 8x10's and rare postcards, starting lineups, plates, cups, mugs, autographed baseballs, an autographed bat, autographed Astros helmet, mini bat, beanies, dolls, among other things.  I am looking to further build my collection and one day, hopefully soon, build a much larger addition to my house to display my wonderful and treasured collection.  Below is a link to my HAVELIST and some highlights to my collection.

My Nolan Ryan HAVELIST

As you probably already know, I am always looking for cards I need of:

Nolan Ryan    J.J. Redick    Chris Cooley

However, I do a lot of cross-trading.  If I see a Ryan, Redick, or Cooley I need at a trading site, I will do my best to find something to trade for it!  The more my collections grow, the harder it is to find cards I need...so there are some things I will trade for other than Ryan, Redick, and Cooley. 

Miscelaneous Wantlists

I am a HUGE Duke Blue Devils Basketball fan.  I don't collect basketball cards anymore, but decided to collect J.J. Redick when he graduated and went pro.  I followed him through his four years at Duke.  One reason I am a big fan of his is because he stayed all four years, which is rare these days.  I am a fan of ALL Duke alumni, but enjoyed watching Redick play.  Some may argue that he wasn't, or still isn't, good enough for the NBA, but he's one of the BEST pure shooters to ever play at any level of the game.  Aside from that, he's from Virginia, as am I...But he had a great college career and has a bright future in the NBA, no matter what his role is.  I am currently looking for any and all Redick cards.

I am also a die-hard Washington Redskins fan...I was basically born into it.  Although I don't collect football cards anymore, I recently decided to collect Chris Cooley.  I try to catch him on the radio (with "Elliott in the Morning") on the mornings after the games.  Seems and sounds down to earth and is a damn good football player.  My family enjoys watching Cooley, who is a key part of Washingtons offense.  Hopefully Dan Snyder is smart enough to keep Cooley around  for a while....

I have all of my cards categorized in a Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet.  It took a while, but I got it done! 

I am currently trading all of my Non-Baseball cards and memorabilia for cards I need of Nolan Ryan and/or any STAR inserts, #'d cards, RC's, GU'd, or AUTO's.  Ryan is my first priority though.  There are too many cards out there, and I'd rather try and keep up with one sport!
