Jeff Buchanan

Family: Michelle, Hannah, Hart and Hunter

Welcome

“Optimism in the Midst of Crisis”

Jeff Buchanan, of Newnan, has been knocked down by cancer, but not knocked out.  Together with his wife, Michelle, also a native of Newnan, two 16 year old twin boys, Hart and Hunter and 19 year old daughter Hannah, Jeff will fight this disease with family and friends close by his side.  Jeff is a 1978 honor graduate of Newnan High School. He lettered in football and wrestling, won the 1977 Football Academic award and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes award. He graduated from West Georgia College in 1984 with a Communications degree and went to work for WMGT-TV in Macon as Sports Director and on-air sports reporter. He has been employed with Avery Dennison Corp. in Peachtree City for the past 22 years. Jeff has coached a variety of youth teams over the years including baseball, football and soccer. Two of his youth baseball all-star teams won the Pony League State Title.

After being diagnosed with cancer two years ago, Jeff had surgery to remove part of his liver and part of his colon.  After undergoing treatment for the past two years, Jeff received news, this past April that more spots were found on his liver.  He will undergo further surgery on his liver at a later date this year.  As a result of fighting this disease, Jeff and his family have undergone a financial hardship that will cause them to lose their house and move in with family at the end of this month.
