About Jason

Powhatan Virginia’s Jason White is heading into the 2006 NASCAR Busch Series season looking to continue to show the owners, drivers and media why he shouldn’t be taken lightly. White has his fair share in racing from racing go-carts at age 11 to taming the high banks of Daytona International Speedway in the NASCAR Busch Series in 2004, Jason’s seen it all.

Now joining forces with Ashton Gray Racing, Jason has hopes of maneuvering himself as a fierce competitor in one of the most highly respected ranks and sanctions of Motorsports across the world.

Before moving into the NASCAR Busch Series, White did much of his early racing from his home stage of Virginia. Early on, in five year Jason won six Virginia state titles and finished in the WKA (World Karting Association) top-ten for all three classes.

From there, the 26 year old spent five seasons on the Mid-Atlantic Modified Tour with eight victories and more than 25 top ten finishes.

Next, Jason jumped right into the NASCAR Busch Series in 1999 with LAR Motorsports and owner Larry Lockamy. Jason made his Busch debut at the tricky short track of Indianapolis Raceway Park qualifying 28th and finishing a very respectable 26th. Bristol Motor Speedway was the next venue for White and after turning some heads with a very stout 23rd place qualifying effort, his night ended early. The NASCAR Busch Series wasn’t the only type of racing on his agenda that year as Jason competed in the Mid Atlantic Modified Tour finishing second in points.

In 2000, Jason returned to the Modified Tour Series competing at Southside Speedway and producing again another runner-up finish in the championship standings.

In 2001, Jason grabbed the attention of IMPACT Motorsports in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and was later offered a seven-race deal with the team. His best event for the team occurred at Martinsville Speedway where he qualified 27th but patiently worked his way up to score a career-best finish of 13th.

In 2002, Jason raced six times between the NASCAR Busch Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

In 2003 all eyes turned towards the NASCAR Busch Series driving for Davis Motorsports, Jay Robinson Racing and Ken Alexander Racing. Competing in 23 of the 34 NASCAR Busch Series events, Jason qualified a season best 23rd twice at New Hampshire International Speedway and Richmond International Raceway while racing to a season best finish of 17th at Nashville.

2004 saw Jason make four NASCAR Busch Series starts with MacDonald Motorsports once again taking an undefended team to the front without having the finishes to prove it.

After taking the 2005 racing season off, Jason is back at it ready to hit the track in 2006 with Ashton Gray Racing in the NASCAR Busch Series. The team will run a limited schedule driving the No. 08 Dodge Charger.

This new team is ready to reach new heights and having selected a winner in Jason White, the team is already one step closer to victory lane.
