About Me

Welcome to J Mac Photography! I'm Jason McConnell. I'm a college student in Charleston, South Carolina, and I'm a wildlife photographer trying to get his name out.

I'm a biology student with a passion for wildlife, both studying and photographing it. I hope to be a professional wildlife photographer someday. For some reason unknown to me, I enjoy hobbies that frequently have me up to my waist in nasty, muddy water. Whether I'm searching for a tree frog to snap a shot of, or just looking for some turtles to measure, I'm knee-deep in mud and loving it!

Also, all images on this site (with the exception of the flower at the top of this page) are my work. Please do not use my photos without my permission. If you would like to use my pictures contact me via e-mail at JMacPhotography@gmail.com

Current Projects

Well, lately I've been getting into birds. I only recently started taking closer looks at some of the species of birds that live in my area, and every time I do, I become more and more fascinated by them. So, for the next few weeks I'm going to be focusing on bird shots. I've been wanting to put my 75-300mm lens to work, anyway.

Gear Wishlist

At the moment, I am trying to buy a new Canon 30D DSLR camera so that I can take better photos (because I won't have to deal with film anymore) and so that I can more quickly and easily get the photos from the camera to the site. If you would like to donate to help me get my camera and maybe some new gear faster, click the donate button at the bottom of the page. Any and all donations will help and are greatly appreciated!
