What's Your Story?

Welcome to my digital portfolio on the Web. My name is Jason Gutierrez and I am a freelance journalist and full-time Public Affairs Representative for Kaiser Permanente. 
Well, where to begin.

Six years prior to working at Kaiser Permanente, I established myself as a journalism professional and editor for The Bakersfield Californian’s monthly magazine Bakersfield Life and former quarterly entertainment magazine, B-entertained.

I've since expanded my freelancing career, focusing on entertainment and travel writitng. I have been published in Instinct Magazine, Passport Magazine, MetroSource Magazine, Santa Barbara Magazine and California Centers Magazine.

I know firsthand what it takes to put together a quality publication and know how to tailor an article to the specific voice and style of any publication.
 
Being a freelance journalist isn't easy. But writing is my passion and enjoy every minute of being a journalist.
