Christian Ex-Gay Ministry

News from the JASON Ministries!

Guys,

here are news from Pastor Paul, who leads the JASON Ministries in the Pacific area:

Dear Robert,

I most certainly will get onto writing a few points for your consideration for the Groups. I am sorry about the delay.

I have spent a few days in hospital of late, had a heart attack and  asmall by-pass and 3 stents...must be a sign of getting older. But this I can say with complete conviction. As clear as I have heard anything in my life, the Lord said to me, "I will heal you completely and you will die and old man." I am only 60 years of age so I think I have several good years ahead of me...thank you Jesus.

Jason in the South pacific is growing slowly. Another new man came on board from one of the more remote islands of Fiji and now an shock...a young lady (25 years of age asked to join in fellowship with Jason. She is a New Zealander and actually knew Jason so we both go back some time now. I did try and encourage her to perhaps join up with myself as a prayer buddy, and this she has done, but she is deffinite to join Jason...I accepted her. She experiences the exact same difficulties that us guys do, so I in all fairness could not say no. Who knows, a woman's imput might be a very valuable thing.

I only hope I have made the right decision for Jason.

Jason's mum sends her love and respect to all in the Group.

God bless my dear friend.

It has been some time since we last made contact, so I do so now.

Things here in the South Pacific are coming along just fine. We now have a total of 19 men throughout New Zealand and the South Pacific Islands who are working in close union through email contact...hearts are changing and that is what the Lord Jesus so desires.

Dear Robert,

Greetings in the precious name of Jesus.

I do apologize to you for the long time since my last email to you…no excuses…I guess I have in fairness though been rather busy of late.

Things here in the South pacific are going very well in deed. We now have members in the following countries:

New Zealand                         2

Fiji                                           2

Samoa                                     1

Tonga                                     1

Tahiti                                      1

New Caledonia                     4

Papua New Guinea               2

Total                                      13

There is a definite interest here in the South Pacific. Pride and culture is so very often the things that get in the way of a number of men “coming out” and accepting that Jesus is still in the miracle making business. Homosexuality is very much a topic that is not talked about down under even here in New Zealand. Prejudice is something very real and sad to see in action.

I do hope Robert that you are well and that all in JASON MINISTRIES are prospering in Jesus and their new found lives in His name.

God bless.

Pastor Peter

PACIFIC REGION

New Zealand

JASON: yes, you can also get together with us in New Zealand now! If you want to meet our contact person there, send us an email.

News from New Zealand (August 24th, 2007):

 Dear Robert,

It has taken a considerable time to find out how to contact you..praise almighty God, I haver at last been able to do so.

This might well come as a surprise to you, but, I knew Jason, Pastor Mike and Pastor Les well. Jason I was introduced to by Pastor Mike. when things were not going so well for him. Pastor's Mike and Les well, I was there confident to the best of my limited ability.

I knew both Pastor's for many years and can only state what I believe to be so true of them both and that is that they were wonderful men of God and
a credit to the ministry here in New Zealand and abroad.

I am not sure how I can be of assistance to HA, but this I have done in keeping with Pastor Les' request and that is I have kept in contact with members of HA in the South Pacific Islands and will with your permission continue to do so. In fact, there are now 11 members in the Islands and 4 in New Zealand. I myself and not homosexual, however, I believe in what your principles are and stand for.

If it is your wish for me to continue to minister to this men in both New Zealand and the South Pacific Islands, then I would consider it a privilage to do so. I have seen incredible growth in these men as they have embrassed the truth  being Jesus and totally surrendered at the foot of the cross.
To me, this is why in the main they remain free from the bondage of homosexuality.

I apologise for the time delay in contacting you, but, I did not have contact details...it was only by chance that I came across your website and
have contacted you accordingly.

If you wish to contact me back that would be wondeful.

In His name ..

Pastor Peter.

Dear Robert,

Greetings from New Zealand.

I see no problems in puting phone number online for others who might be in need.

Therefore my direct number is    0064.3.9811.539

That number is direct from whereever in tne world , so please feel free to add it accordingly.

Love in His name.

Pastor Peter.

News from the Jason group:

Dear All,

Greetings in the precious name of Jesus.

I have just arrived home after having travelled to the South Pacific Islands, including, Fiji, Samoa, American Samoa, New Caledonia, Tahiti and Tonga. The Jason Group now has 8 members from these Islands and 2 >from New Zealand.

It was a real joy to meet these men who so deeply desire total freedom from SSA. After talking well into the early hours of the morning (on several occassions), I was most thankful that the Holy Spirit ministered to these men and to note that their determination to be set free form SSA's was even more obvious after these meetings.

It was not only a joy to see the determination of these men in regards to total freedom from SSA's, but also by His grace alone 2 men surrendered their hearts to Jesus and were baptised  into His family accordingly. The Lord is good.

Many many thanks goes to the member of HA who sent me some books etc., to share with these men in the Islands. I have not had the opportunity to write to that member, but I will most certainly do so in the next day or two. The men were truly blessed to be able to read information that is applicable to us all.

Will away now and try and get some much over due rest.

Together we walk with the Father.

Les.
(October 24th, 2006)

Greetings from New Zealand.

A short update I feel in needed in regards to the JASON GROUP in the South Pacific.

The group is going very weel as we are now up to 9 members. The Lord Jesus Christ has blessed out little group as we continue to plead for His grace and mercy on all here in New Zealand and the South Pacific Islands.

The guys concerned are now starting to open up in trust with the rest of the group members. Please remember that so often with those in the South pacific, it is considered a trememdous shame on one's family if someone acknowledges or is found out to be homosexsual. The blessing now is, that some of these group members have told there families and been able to ask for ongoing prayer for there restoration. Now that is a miracle in itself.

One of the things that concerns me gratly is the lack of financlial means more so in the South Pacific Islands. These are a very poor and yet humble people, but their incomes are minimal to say the least. The reason I mention this is because I note that often times mentioned in HA-2 are reference books that  might well be beneficial to these guys in recovery form SSA.

I have a suggestion to make to all the members of HA-2 and that is...do soem of you think that now and then you might be able to but a copy of the books as nominated so as I can give to the guys in the Islands. I relaize that this is a very big ask given that not too many people these days are all that freely financial. It is a suggestion that I ask for feed back on.

Thank you guys and may almighty god bless you as just reward for your efforts.

Together we walk eith the Father.

Les. (October  3rd, 2006)

News from the local JASON group (September 4th, 2006):

Greetings in the precious name of Jesus.

I am so pleased to mention that the Jason group here in the South Pacific now has a new member...we are now 6 in total. This man's name is S. and hails from Tonga, a first for the Group.

Please uphold S. in prayer as he like the rest of us tries to over come by the blood of the Lamb homosexuality in his life.

The group here in now quite vibrant in that we seem to be communicating more than in the past.

We now have in the South Pacific region members of the Jason Group from  New Zealand (2), Tonga (1), American Samoa (1) The Cook Islands (1) and Fiji (1).

Together we walk with the Father.

Les.

News: The JASON group in the South Pacific area has just opened an online group, too. If you are from down under (New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, Samoa...) and would like to join them, send us an email.

Just a short update on how the Jason Group is coming along in the South Pacific.

As a result of Marco's premature passing, we went down to two in number, but praise God, we are now 5 in total. This number includes 4 from the South Pacific Islands and one from New Zealand.

The email system is proving to be acceptable, more so to those in the Islands as homosexuality and the mention of such a topic is mostly forbidden. Strangely, there are  a  number of homosexuals who have approached me for counsel who reside in the Islands. They are at this time not prepared to join the Jason Group but wish to communicate privately with me and discuss their concerns and their desires to overcome homosexuality. One of the biggest problems is to get these people to see that the problem is HOMOSEXULAITY not that of being GAY. They struggle to understand that very few homosexuals are in fact "GAY".....in fact, quite the opposite, very sad and confused people. To call the sin/problem/whatever by it's name is a big step forward in recognizing that homosexuality/or whatever is not in keeping with the will of almighty God.

I continue to preach about the ability of homosexuals/alcoholics/drug addicts/ and so on to actualy overcome their condition and overcome to the glory of almighty God, "Such were you in past times" as quoted from the Bible. This is an encouragement to people who are in the depths of despair, but the hope of overcoming is clear in this Scripture.

Just a few thoughts from the South Pacific.

God bless

Les.

A SHORT REPORT FROM THE SOUTH PACIFIC

It all strated here in the South Pacific when a young man was beaten constantly and often times in the most degrading and humiliating ways one could imagine. Yes, jason was a homosexual but other than two people no one knew and yet because he did not have a girl friend he was judged as being "gay" and subjected as stated previously to emotional, physical and sexual abuse.

This abuse carried itself on into the "Christian" arena when church itself judged Jason and effectively rejected him because he was "gay" or so they had been informed. At no time did the church ask Jason that question, rather they listened to the gossip and acted in the most un-Christian like manner imaginable. To their shame,  the LordJesus Christ will be their judge.

Sadly, Jason could take the pressure no longer and took his own life. To those of us who knew this young man, it was devastation beyond compare as he was truly the most amazing example of a Christian suffering, and in silence. it is also true to say that I learnt much from this 17 year old, things that I should have already known given my time as a Christian. Still, I guess the Lord's timing is perfect and I thank and praise Him daily for allowing me the privilage of meeting, praying alongside and comforting this young man. I believe that I can also comment briefly in regards to the man, my dear friend Pastor Mike., who spent countless hours ministering to Jason, cleaning his wounds and holding him in Christian love and confort. It is fair to say, that I miss both of these men as I consider them both to have been mighty men of God. Pastor Mike., counselled and prayed for this young man often times through the night that the Lord Jesus would intervene in whatever way He considered appropriate. Pastor Mike., was like Jason, an inspiration to all that knew them. My love remains with them both even to this day. They are sadly missed.

The Jason group has an informal online group of 3 men who like HA-2 minister to each other in regrads to remaining free from homosexuality. This small group is effective in that the news is spreading here in the South Pacific Islands, although men are very reluctant because of the stigma that remains here in regrads to homosexuality. New Zealand in particular in extremely apathetic towards Christianity and as a consequence it makes it a very difficult place to minister the name of Jesus in. The South Pacific Islands are similar to New Zealand but in a different way. most of the Islands are inclined towards Christianity, but homosexulity is something that is just not talked about, hence such homosexuals remain very insecure as a result of their sexual orientation, but also because of the likely rejection that will happen if in fact their homosexuality some how come to the surface. The Lord's grace is needed here in the South Pacific to help all of these men in the many countries of the South Pacific to be set free from their bondage.

The email communication is working reasonably well. and, although we are few in number, I am encouraged when the Lord Jesus said, that, "that when two or more gather in His name, he is in their midst." These men are starting to open up and encourage one another through the difficulties of speaking openly and often times for the first time about their area of addiction. Thank You Jesus.

Likewise, the name Jason is being used quite frequently these days as I preach openly about restoration through the name of Jesus. Not all that long ago, I was knocked to the groud because I stated openly that homosexual's can be set free totally by the power of the Holy Spirit. Wow, that hurt, haha, but on a more serious note, it was an interesting situation because when I picked myself up off the floor, and continued to minister as I had been doing, a new kind of interest or attention was evident....the Holy Spirit touched two young men that night. These young men had been engaging in homosexual activities, (not with each other), but such was the power of the Holy Spirit that night that I do believe that they were both set free totally from their addictions. Now, some weeks later, neither of them have engaged in any homosexual or other sexual activity and remain on fire for the Lord Jesus Christ. Interestingly, I have since been invited back to that church to preach again and  needless to say, Jason was mentioned on numerous occassions. As I see it, Jason is a symbol or standard for all people to reach out to regardless of their sexual orientation. Just the fact that jason was such an incredible instrument of mercy and love for the Lord Jesus Christ is worthy of mention in what ever situation or circumstance I happen to ministering in. Young peopel who are heterosexual have approached me after I have ministered and spoken to me about their sexual activities with members of the opposite sex. So I guess what I am trying to say here is that Jason is reaching out to others than those who are homosexual, and that is absolutely amazing.

May almighty God continue to bless you all as just reward for your efforts.

Together we walk with the Father.

Pastor. Les.

Eine Nachricht von Les (16.04.06):

Dear All,

Firstly I would like to welcome all the new members from your brothers in New Zealand. I pray that the risen Christ will continue to be your guiding light.

During my travels these past few weeks, I have taken the homosexual message with me firstly to Kenya and then around New Zealand and explianed that freedom from such a bondage is possible if we surrender in fullness and faith to almighty God. I am pleased to report that I have 6 young men that will report to me weekly about their struggles...therefore, please uphold these young men in prayer as they too are going through the same struggles that each and every member of HA-2 are going through.

Robert you might be pleased to know that I reported on the Jason Group and the success that this group has seen with a number of it's participants. I am not sure what you think Roibert about extending the Jason Group to New Zealand, the South Pacific Islands and generally down under. Please put this to prayer and advise me accordingly.

In His service.

Les

Cross Ministry Reaches New Zealand

Churches called to aid those struggling with homosexuality
Saturday, 08 October 2005

“We are all heterosexual,” he asserted, referring to studies on his ministry website. “The only part that is not heterosexual is the mind, and the Bible talks about renewing the mind.”

HOMESTEAD, Fla. (BP)--Trapped in an elevator with an inquisitive older woman who wanted to know which nonprofit office he was heading, Tim Wilkins had no choice but to tell her the ministry he works with helps former homosexuals find healing through Jesus Christ.

“How in the world did you get involved in that area of ministry?” she asked. When Wilkins told her it is because he used to be homosexual, he said her response unfortunately is all too common, even among Christians: “There was a terrified look on her face and she had a dazed expression.”

Ironically, Wilkins said, testimonies of drug abuse or even sins of a heterosexual nature usually elicit sympathy and sometimes smiles of understanding. “I’ll tell you, it’s not this way when you talk about homosexuality,” said Wilkins, founder of Cross Ministry, which seeks to equip the church to evangelize and disciple the homosexual.

Wilkins challenged those attending a one-day “MORE THAN WORDS” conference Sept. 24 at First Baptist Church in Homestead, Fla., to give more than lip service in providing a biblical “loving, compassionate and responsible” ministry to those who struggle with feelings of same-sex attraction.
