Here's some of Jardel's history:
Throughout the ages there have been those who live to serve their master, even to the death. Jardel was one such man, a Knight of the royal court of Blanderon. His duty was to serve his master with his life, and, if required give his life for him. Devoting his life to becoming a Knight, he became a page at an early age. Passing through the ranks he eventually became a Knight of the Royal Court. On one fateful day the enemies of Blanderon marched upon her walls. Jardel was called to her defense with the rest of the knights. They stood victorious, The Knights of Blanderon, but victory came at a cost. No one knew how the enemy had become aware of Blanderon's one weakness, a hidden gate on the west wall. Jardel, along with several others, were cast from the kingdom, accused of having betrayed their home. Jardel took to the road, searching for a new master. He lives to serve someone or something, be it a master or a greater cause. And so he happens into Karchan, seeking these things
