We we're entered in the Scottish Kennel Clubs first Championship show of the year, May the 17th. We made a weekend of it by staying at Our Friends Kelly, Of Kinapak Siberian huskies for the weekend in Carlisle, we traveled up on the Friday, a nice drive taking only 3 hours. Kelly had an appointment so we met her in the nearest village only to pull up with a flat tyre! So we had to find the nearest garage in a very small old style town but managed to find one who came to our rescue. So we we're back on the road, back to Kelly's place in the sticks, surrounded by fields, very pretty.
A 4am wake up to travel to the next village to pick Alison up then off up to Scotland for the dog show, We we're greeted by Rain and cold Weather. But the show must go on.
Brooke was 1st in the ring, a class of 14 but went un-placed but performed her best. Reiver received a RCC under judge Audrey Richardson last time two years ago at LKA, so as you can imagine we we're very nervous, well Reiver wasn't bothered! Reiver was in Limit, a small class of 6 but it seemed like we we're in there for hours, Reiver won her class then later went on the win her 1st CC, What an amazing day! I can't thank the judge enough for placing my girl so highly. The drive home was great, and we had a fair few drinks later that evening to celebrate!
We went to the club show in April, Brooke was placed 2nd place in Under-graduate Bitch, clever girly. Reiver was placed 7th out of a large Limit class.
The girls are still getting out for runs in harness at least 2-3 times a week, at 1st light in a morning and managed some runs on the cooler evenings.
Our Next show is Three Counties at Malvern, with Dana & Reiver
We went along to Crufts and had a very nice day, was a very big entry with big strong classes. Both my girls came home with placings, Reiver 4th & Brooke VHC. Reiver performed fantastic but Brooke was a little monkey! She did very well to get placed as it was a very strong class, with lots of yealings showing lots of promise, she also left her coat at home also! She's just makes you laugh, so very cheeky.
Next Show: Siberian Husky Club of Great Britain. See you there.
Well we competed at the last BSHRA race of the Season, what a super weekend! The excitment at the finish line was unreal as some of the Championship positions was decided!
We had a lovely run in the D class coming 10th, the weather was mild which effect Reiver's efforts but we enjoyed ourselfs. I then was lucky enough to take Xaro's, Tess, Cub And Tan owned by the Forstal Kennel in the Curtosy class, we had a very nice run, enjoying the super trails.
We had a fantastic time at the awards evening, good food, super company, a lovely way to end the season. We finished 9th in the D class out of 21 regular competitors and we finished 10th in the ALL BITCH championship again out of 21 teams from all classes, Im Very Proud of the girlies they did fantastic.
Sunday was more relaxed and so chilled without the Championship hanging over peoples heads. Everyone was in good spirits taking part in most of the events.
I was very honoured to be able to Run Forstals Xaros (Xaros the Wonder Dog) as part of a 3 dog team with Brooke in lead and Reiver in wheel, we had a super run and enjoyed every minute of it!
I then took Cub (CH Forstals Kaliznik) along with Reivers Mum who will be 14 this year out with Dana in the same class, which was a lovely run. Dana really enjoyed herself!
A super way to end the season.
But the girls have one more race left, we're travelling up North to race at Quithel with the SSHC. Then the show season will begin!
