Welcome to THE MIDLANDS INDEPENDENT MIDWIFERY SERVICE website, which is owned and run by Jan Haynes (MSc Cert, DipHE, RM, NNEB Cert)

 I have been a Midwife for well over a decade and within this time I have supported many women to give birth. I have experience of completely natural births,very high tech births and lots of variations in between. So I am well equipped to deal with every eventuality that may arise, and support you in whatever choices you make.

My aim is to ensure you feel listened to, safe, comfortable and as confident as possible. That you are fully informed and feel supported and secure enough, to make choices that feel right for you and your family.

You will find that throughout the care you recieve, plenty of time is given to building a trusting relationship between us, so you feel confident to express your, concerns, fears, needs and hopes for your journey through pregnancy, birth and life with your newborn baby.

Getting to know you in this way enables me to stay in tune with, and promote, the natural progression of growing and birthing your baby and your adaptation to motherhood.

I believe that for the majority of women natural childbirth gives the most joyous, satisfying and healthy start to life with a newborn and promotes a strong bond between mother and baby.
