When you decide to have your portraits done with me, we will meet three times. First, there will be the Design Consultation, then the Photo Shoot itself, and, finally, the Ordering Appointment. Please read on for explanations of these meetings and for some package options.
The Design Consultation
At the Design Consultation, we will meet and discuss what you'd like to get out of the photo shoot. The best place to meet for this is your home. This gives me a feel for who you are, and what your style is, which guides me when planning and editing shots. If you prefer, however, this meeting can take place elsewhere, or even over the phone or via e-mail. The photo session will be paid for at the Design Consultation by cash or check.
The Photo Shoot
As it says above, the shoot itself can take place in the location of your choice. Some options are the Farmer's Market, the Dallas Arboretum, a park you particularly enjoy, the Dallas Museum of Art, or, simply, your home. The truth is, your home might be the most comfortable place for your children, so they may act most naturally there. The photo shoot will last for one to two hours. We will keep it as low-key and comfortable as possible. This should be fun! We will play and laugh...maybe read a story, and probably sing a song, or two! It's sort of like a playdate with a grown-up and a camera! By the way, the result of the photo shoot is usually about 100 or more photos...but I'll weed through them before the Ordering Appointment.
The Ordering Appointment
At the Ordering Appointment, we will look over the edited results of the photo shoot. We'll discuss, together, what sizes would be best for certain prints and options for different styles. This is the hard part, as there will be so many difficult choices to make! But, I'm here for you & I'll help you decide, if I can! You will be very pleased to know that a portion of all pet print orders is donated to the SPCA of Dallas. Prints come in wallet size all the way up to, and over, 20 X 30. I also offer a dvd of your photos, set to music. This is really a nice gift idea, and something to consider. I recommend purchasing one of the packages below, as the prices, per print, are discounted when you buy a set. If you would like more of a certain size, those can be added on from the a la carte menu. There is a minimum print order of $80.

Session Fees
Session fee $150
Included in the $150 session fee will be the sitting fee for 3 people, approximately two hours of shooting at the location of your choice, the time taken for the Design Consultation and the Ordering Appointment, and time spent in editing (even getting rid of bug-bites, scratches, and pimples!) There will be a sitting fee of $50 for each additional person (capped at $350).
First Year Package Session fee $440
This includes a new baby session (birth up to three months), six month, nine month, and one year (11 months up to 13 months) session. This is a great deal—four sessions for only $110 per session! In addition, you will receive a free collage after your baby’s one-year shoot! $70 minimum print order applies to each session.
Maternity plus First Year Package Session fee $550
Included in this package, are a maternity shoot (best done at about 5 or 6 months pregnant), a newborn shoot (up to 6 weeks old), and a three, six, nine, and one-year (11 months to 13 months) shoot. This is the best deal—it comes to under $92 per session. You will also receive a free collage after your baby’s one-year shoot! $70 minimum print order applies to each session.
Birthday Party/Shower/Any Special Occasion $450 Special Introductory Rate!
You have enough to do at your party! You have guests to greet, food to get out, and so much more! Let me photograph your special event! You will receive 3 hours of photography, a dvd slideshow, set to music, and a beautiful coffee table book (described further below.)
Musician/Band Portrait Session fee $100 per member (minimum fee $300)
These sessions are specifically for musicians who need photos for album art, bios, myspace, websites...whatever. As the spouse of a musician, I understand the need for affordable, yet compelling, photos in order to promote one's music. We will speak several times prior to the actual session, getting our creative ideas out in the open, and deciding the direction of the shoot. I have a stylist, Ace Edwards, who has offered to work with my musician clients. Ace is a very talented musician who also happens to be an experienced stylist, and has provided my clients with some very useful insight into their wardrobe choices for these shoots. He often joins us on these sessions, offering advice and guidance along the way! In addition to the pre-shoot preparation, the shoot itself, and my time editing the photos, musicians will receive a cd or cd's of edited images, and some raw images from the shoot. They will own these images and have the right to do with them what they please. (Jane Maus Photography will retain the right to use the images, as well.)
*I am currently located in Grand Prairie. Any session located more that 30 miles from me will incur a travel expense fee, to be added to the session fee. This fee will be determined per case, depending on distance and time of the shoot.

Portraits are available in a variety of sizes, printed on premier art canvas and wrapped around ¾” width wooden stretcher frame. Comes ready for hanging (lovely even without a frame!) Please add $200 to any print size.
What a lovely way to compile your favorite shots from your session! 30 double-sided pages of glossy, archival-quality paper are bound together in a beautifully crafted coffee table book. Book comes with gorgeous, metalic-paper dust jacket. This 12.5x10” book is absolutely breath-taking, and custom-designed for you.
DVD slideshow set to music $100
Choose your own music or music can be selected by me, based on the feel of the photos from the session. Additional copies may be purchased as well, $30 for 2 dvds.
