My name is Jane Maus. The quote above, by Ralph Waldo Emerson, is one of my very favorite quotes about children. How true it is! Children are darling, hysterical, sloppy, sweet little cyclones who whirl into their parents' lives and turn everything upside-down...in the best possible way. They teach us what love really is. This is what I want to capture for you.
I aim not to photograph a child who's been told to sit still and smile, but to catch a glimpse of your real child and keep it for you. My objective, with each photo shoot and the subsequent editing of images, is to create a piece of art which you will be proud to show in your home or office. But more importantly, my goal is to photograph that look, that expression that is familiar to your heart--the true being of your child.
