LATEST NEWSIguanodon partial skull discovery! - a very large jaw with a massive row of teeth in situ.
First diagnostic/definitive Allosaurid femur found in the mainland Wealden
Here is news of another exciting find: a large allosaurid proximal half femur. The femur bone is in excellent state of preservation. It was extremely fortunate that the bone was found still encased in the large bolder, it kept the bone intact and the bone with processes are fully preserved. The femur is comparable with the allosaurid femur found in Portugal which belonged to the theropod dinosaur called Louranhanosaurus. The new femur found in Sussex has the same large blade-like alliform Lesser trochanter. The bone possibly belonged to the sinraptorid group of theropod dinosaurs, but further study is needed.
